Final Wedding Preparations

It's finally here...Wedding week!  My son comes into town tomorrow and then we start a crazy, jam packed, wedding week!

Speaking of jam packed, my little house is bursting with all of the decor and projects we have worked on for the last 6 months

This is the corner with the rehearsal dinner decorations.  The dinner will be at a little outdoor cafe around the corner from my house...Yikkes, lets hope we don't have any crazy weather events!

This corner holds all of the decor for the outside morning wedding and following brunch reception....I can't wait for the omelet station and mashed potato bar..Doesn't that sound great!

Here is a few more wedding projects I haven't shown you, the future DIL covered these letters from Hobby Lobby with moss

And her Mom made these cute little coloring book kits to occupy the kids that are attending

And I made 15 Tussie mussies that will be filled with baby's breath and roses and hang at the end of each row

Before I leave ......
.......I had to share this with you, I found a long dress to wear to the wedding, but since it's a morning wedding I took it to Nadia the seamstress to hem.  I wanted it hemmed just above the knees, but Nadia informed me in her Romanian accent...... "Oh, no, it cannot be just above the knee because the top of your knees are WRINKLED"....What!!!!

Come on, like I don't have enough wrinkles every where else..... Now I have wrinkled knees!!!  Oh for cripes sakes ladies, go check your knees....So, here it is HEMMED JUST BELOW THE WRINKLES!!

I'll be back as soon as I can with wedding pictures!

Happy Thanksgiving
and
Happy Creating!

Carol

Circa 1940s, those wrinkled knees were the cats meow! Contests were held and prizes awarded to women whose 'knee wrinkles' resembled tiny faces!

Never mind your so-called 'wrinkled' knees..everyone has those..but she's right as far as style goes..that is the trendy length...
Love your tussy mussies..and looks like your son is marrying into a creative family, which should bode well for future creativity!
Have a wonderful time, Carol...don't work too hard, dance lots!

First of all . . . I think your knees are perfect, LOL
There is something very delightful about a morning wedding. I have never attended one, but it sounds wonderful.
Everything is so lovely and there is so much thought and love that has gone into this celebration. Congratulations to your family and God bless you with a perfectly wonderful day.
I will be watching your site for photos.

Best wishes,
Connie :)

So excited!! I loved watching all the stuff unfold and love the new stuff. That is a WONDERFUL idea about the coloring books, btw. Brilliant! Everything looks wonderful, and I'll bet if I saw those knees, I wouldn't see a wrinkle on them.

BTW, I happen to have had a morning wedding, and I think they are the best ever.

Give yourself the gift of a wonderful, blessed week, and if you see a blonde behind a large, potted plant, just ignore her. She's harmless.

All your creations for the wedding are beautiful.. it will be a very memorable wedding indeed. Your dress looks quite lovely, I imagine wrinkled knees would not have been noticed. Ha.
Mine aren't necessarily wrinkled, but they both have a knee length surgical scar!!!! Plus the staples used (instead of stitches) gives the scar a zipper look to it!! (I do prefer to keep them covered.) Here's wishing your son and d-i-l a beautiful sun filled day for the wedding.

You have done so many lovely decorations, just everything. You have truly been kind. I hope they, your son, and daughter in law, appreciate it. Blessings and enjoy the weekend.

You should have told Nadia that you are so comfortable in your own skin that your knee wrinkles don't bother you a bit or, of course, you could have said "Oh those? Those are just laugh lines." I have never heard of anyone worrying about knee wrinkles ever.

Carol, I've been thinking about you all weekend, and I prayed for your son and now-official DIL on Saturday. I'm sure that it was a glorious day, thanks in large part to the role you played in planning it.♥

I don't think that I will ever forget your wrinkled knees story as long as I live! hehehe (I just checked mine--they are both wrinkled *and* fat!)
