I wish I could have brought you all along with me yesterday. I went to Renningers, an antique market in Mount Dora, Florida, 1/2 hour west of Orlando.
Three times a year they host an "Antique Extravaganza" with a 1000 dealers from around the country!
Rows and fields of vendors
A vendor I always look forward to seeing is Cindy Cross, she has a ton of small things
I bought a few of those bedsprings, I am not sure what I will use them for, but I just had to have them!
OK, so here was my buy's for the day, some springs, jars, jewels, fabric, pin cushion and linen.
I love the hat and I often buy linen just to use the crochet edge. I can pick a stained piece up for .50 -$1.00, but the hand crochet edging....Priceless
It was my idea of a perfect day
Sunny
73 degrees
Surrounded by junk!

Carol...you did take us with you through the photos..I too collect old crocheted 'edgings' and doilies, etc...and would have probably bought every piece of broken porcelain and ceramic from those baskets you showed...heaven!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the armchair visit!♥
Wow, junking heaven for sure. I love looking at all the treasures, makes me want to reach out and grab a hand full of everything. You sure found some fun goodies Carol and I know you'll come up with the perfect use for those rusty springs. Thanks for taking us along:-)
ReplyDeleteOh My Goodness do I ever see lots of things I love (and NEED). You acquired some lovely treasures and I just know you will upcycle them. Creative Hearts are Happy Hearts...
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous of 73! It's 7 below zero here today! I need to plan my next Florida Vacation around the next antique extravegnaza! Love the bedsprings too. If you go to Pinterest they have 6,777 cute ideas. I know whatever you do with them, it will be adorable! :)

Oh, I would've loved to have been there!
ReplyDeleteI have been housebound all weekend and who knows how much longer while I wait for my car to be repaired and it was in the teens here this morning. So a huge THANKS for taking me to the virtual flea market. We would have fought over the doilies, but those rusty springs?!? Hope your tetanus is up to date - LOL! I cannot wait for your guest blogger, I am from Missouri as well - woohoo!

Hi Carol: Loved the virtual tour. I'm jealous of that balmy 70+ weather though. We are freezing our potatoes off here in the mid-west. One of the vendors in our shop spray painted those old rusty springs matt-black and put them on top of small votive lights (the kind with batteries). They look very sweet in rows of three! Thanks for posting such delicious "picks"!!! Claudia
ReplyDeleteDo you know what the tiny pink figures at the bottom of the third picture are? I have a few of those and would love to find some more. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteLoved the tour - thank you for sharing. I love the smalls, too. So much easier to part with the money a few dollars at a time - haha! Would loved to have been able to paw through those bins of sewing notions.
ReplyDeleteI am new to your blog and looking forward to seeing what you do with the salvaged crochet edges.
Carol once again the green eyed monster from Australia is drooling over your photos, asked hubby where Orlando was, definitely not a day trip!!!!!! Thanks once again for sharing
ReplyDeleteHi CarolOh My Goodness do I ever see lots of things I love You acquired some lovely treasures and I just know you will upcycle them. Creative Hearts are Happy Hearts

ReplyDeleteLooks awesome Carol! 73 degrees...seriously? It was 11 here yesterday. That's a big thumbs down! LOL! xo
ReplyDeleteWarm weather and flea market...Jealous!!!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty hat and fun buys!
It's too COLD here! MUST MOVE! LOL!!
Warmly,
deb
No shade of green would capture the jealousy I feel right now.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like the perfect day! I love everything you got--I would have added a few of those old keys too :)
ReplyDeleteSurrounded by junk Carol and 73 degrees......well that's my kind of day :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like it was a great sale! I used to go to the Portland (Oregon) Expo a few times a year where there were almost 1000 dealers. It was SO much fun! We moved from there a few years ago, and boy do I miss it!
ReplyDeleteI especially love all of the galvanized metal pieces and blue jars! And the weather--jealous! :)
Have a great day.
Pam
Looks like a great way to spend the day! The temperature couldn't have been more perfect for someone like me. :)
ReplyDeleteCarol, you did have the perfect day. That is my idea of fun. I bet you could find some great ideas for your bed springs on Pinterest. They are so popular right now. Thanks for sharing your day.
ReplyDeleteHi Carol, I see your still out scouting all the good stuff for us all! I just posted your tutorial again on my new blog (THE flowers). You would not believe what I have been through, I had to change my blog and shop name! Please come and follow me again. Who knows maybe you can win my giveaway again! Miss you, my friend!
ReplyDeleteXoXo Pam
I would have loved it. I am like a kid in a candy store at places like that.
ReplyDeleteAnd I can't wait to see what in the world you come up with for the springs. I can only imagine...
Looks like a great market!!! So many things to look at!

Well you had me at "Sunny and 73 degrees" but the rest is a true bonus for sure! I love vintage sewing stuff so that caught my eye -- you got some great finds. Love the linens!
ReplyDeleteSo funny!! I saw the photo of those rusty bed springs and thought, I need some of those and then I read your comment that you did buy some!! We threw away old bedsprings when we moved into our house and I've regretted it ever since. Not that I would have been able to separate them!! haha
ReplyDeleteThis is my idea for a perfect day too! Love that sweet print fabric you found!
ReplyDeleteI so wish I could go to a market like this..yes I wil;l move if I have to!
ReplyDeleteMy husband already shutters when I tell him I am at a thrift store. He would have a heart attack if I was there!!

ReplyDeleteI love Cindy Cross too. I also got some bedsprings, now I can't remember why I just had to have them!
