A Sweet Little Curio Transformation

I love when I find these cute little curio cabinets with glass doors

This is how it started out....Please make me beautiful!!!

The first thing I do is take the back off, it makes it much easier to paint the inside.

The black flowered paper is drawer liner from the dollar store...I loved it so I bought 4 rolls

Then after I taped it off (Tedious) I painted it and added a water slide decal...Tutorial HERE.  The graphic is from Graphics Fairy

I put it in my booth and Orange Tree and priced it at $48.00.

The series "What sells and what doesn't" will return next Thursday with an antiques vendor from Minnesota.  I didn't schedule a guest blogger today thinking I would have some fabulous Valentines project post....OK, so that didn't happen......So, what have I been doing instead of making Valentines???   Redoing my whole craft room, I'll show you monday!

Happy Creating!
Carol

Whenever I see cabinets like this now, I think of you Carol! : ) I loved that paper from the dollar store, too, and also bought some. It looks great in the back of this little cabinet. Looking forward to seeing your craft room. I always like seeing where others create. Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day, Carol! You are so awesome. I love reading your blog and getting all these tips for fixin' up old stuff. I used to have one of those little curio cabinets and got rid of it because it was so tired looking. Of course, that was many years ago, but I sure wish I'd kept it and fixed it up like you have, here. Now I'll be on the hunt to find something like it. AND, I need to work on convincing "the man" that I really, really NEED a dress form! After your tutorial on making a new one look old, I now want one more than ever.

Hi Carol, Oh I just love this redo of the sweet curio. Love the paper in the back wall. You did a gorgeous redesign as always.
Funny thing, I have the same style curio only in the life size version and have a post for it tomorrow for Country Whites Weekend. LOL
I may just have to add this paper to mine too. I picked up several rolls of the same thing at the Dollar Tree before I got the flu. Now I need to get busy with it.

Can't wait to see your finished craft room. I know it is going to be gorgeous. That Heirloom lace is going in my kitchen too. I just love this paint color and the coordinating chips on that same card.

Happy Valentine's Day.'Hugs, Celestina Marie

Hi Carol! Found your blog a couple weeks ago and have been through the archives enjoying every post and photograph! This cabinet redo is wonderful -- whata talent you have for transformation! (I like to re-purpose interesting pieces - but I have to admit - I'd never have thought to remove the back! Brilliant!!!!

I would buy it if sending it to Canada wouldn't cost more than the little cabinet itself! You did a gorgeous job, as usual....

I love that curio! As usual, you have transformed a nice piece into something really special. What a great way to display the jars. I sell lots of those and vintage perfume bottles in my booth.

What a beautiful transformation. Wintry white is just perfect for Valentine's Day! I am so inspired to get out my paint brush and give a few of my pieces a much needed lift.
Thank you for the inspiration, Carol!

That piece is so gorgeous--love what you did with it! The price is so good too. You always sell things for such reasonable prices--if I lived near you I would have a very hard time resisting!

oh my!!!! ive got one EXACTLY like it. ive been staring at it for a while. paid $2 for it.. knew i was going to paint it white. but wasnt sure what else i wanted to do with it. i have about 10 or so small/medium OLD perfume bottles. most with the labels. very beautiful. they'll fit just perfect. so you've helped me out as to what else i want to do with it. i've got the transfers i ordered from you and ill put one of them on. love how you did it. got some black and white rose material i did with vanity stool. so i think i'll put it on some cardboard to fit. it will look just devine. thanks for helping me figure out what else i should do with it. think ill do it tomorrow. happy valentines day.

What a great piece Carol!! I think I would have trouble selling this beauty!!

I found some liner at Big Lots similar to yours but it is padded liner for drawers. Bought a roll thinking of you - hope to get some of my drawers relined with the pretty paper!
