Road Trip....Vintage Living Market Place

I took a fun weekend road trip to the east coast of Florida to visit my friend Terrie's brand new store
5555 US Highway 1
Rockledge, Florida

Terrie has leased a building that was previously a high end store selling kitchen cabinets and appliances.  This large building has numerous little rooms that displayed mock up kitchens.  Each one of these rooms is gorgeous and now filled with vendors selling their treasures.  Think, crown molding and transom windows over the doorways.  I love the juxtapose of shabby and rusty in a high end setting!

Since this was previously a kitchen store it has the benefit of having a commercial kitchen!.....This makes it the perfect setting for hosting gatherings...Ladies teas, birthdays, showers!....And the bonus is the guests can browse the Market after their event!

I was on the lookout for a dresser for my Hollywood Regency bedroom.....I bought this one...PERFECT!

I also bought the shabby pole lamp below

So many of these great vendors displayed at the Polka Dot Flea and it was so fun to see them again!

Stay tuned....I will share a few more stores I visited in Melbourne on my getaway weekend

Thank you Vintage Finds Magazine for some of these great photo's

Oh, and I am still working on my Hollywood Regency Bedroom.....Photos soon!

Have a great Labor Day weekend

Planning My Hollywood Regency Bedroom

It's been 10 years since I've changed up my bedroom

I couldn't decide what style I wanted until I found my inspiration pieces.

I love these ice blue or maybe silver blue pillow shams

Then I saw this mirrored side table at SteinMart and thought eureka....I will go with a Hollywood Regency look.

It seems there is a lot of different elements to Hollywood Regency.  It's a mix of old Hollywood glamour....Think gold, silver, chandeliers, mirrors and mirrored furniture, lacquered furniture, luxe fabrics, and art deco pieces mixed with antiques.

Since I am not a decorator, I'm not sure if everything I incorporate into my bedroom will follow all of the "Rules" of Hollywood Regency....I guess it will be more like my interpretation.  Here's a few items I found to get started

This hat box was $7.00 Home Goods.....

......And these pillows for $12.00 and $15.00.....

I love this frame for $6.99

I will use the chandelier that is already in the bedroom.....This is the before picture...You will have to wait a couple weeks for the After

I got these luxurious looking drapes at Ikea for a song....Ikea has the best prices!

I will start the transformation by painting my bedroom next week in a silver blue called "Mountain Air " from Sherwin Williams

I planned to already have the painting done but, my A/C went out.....Moan....5 days without air in Florida!  Holy Molly...it was hot.....But, I have a new A/C and I'm up and running again.  The A/C unit was 30 years old and should have been replaced 10 years ago, but I just kept putting Band-Aids on it.  Of course it would finally conk out in August, not January lol!

Here I am lounging in my robe after my bedroom is done lol!

Pre-planning is half the fun!  I will keep you updated on my bedroom redo, I'm hoping it all comes together like my vision!

If you don't hear from me for a few days, don't worry, all is fine.   I'm just having fun re-doing my bedroom!

Happy Creating!
