Making A Sign For The Polka Dot Flea

The Polka Dot Flea has moved to a larger building this year on the Central Florida Fairgrounds

So......I built a big new Polka Dot Flea sign to go with the big new building

I have more ideas for perking up the front, but this sign was my first project.   It will go on the grass outside the entrance

I found these metal letters at Renningers a great antique market about 30 minutes outside Orlando in Mount Dora.

I cut a piece of plywood and then built a frame around it. I got all of the wood from my scrap pile

When I recently redid my kitchen I saved the old faux back
splash...Horder...Horder.... I knew I would use it for something.  I was able to glue it on and then used dark wax to age it a little.

I thought long and hard about how to attach the metal letters, since they are hollow in the back, I could not glue them and I would have needed mighty long screws ...So, in the end I attached them with wire

And then did a practice run by setting it up in my back yard to insure no snafus on show day

It measures almost 9 ft long!

That Should get peoples attention......I am thrilled to put a big check mark on this project......DONE!!!

Hand Jewelry Holders

I was at a great estate sale a few months ago.  It was a house FILLED to the brim.....It was almost overwhelming!

As I picked my way through the house I ended up with a great collection of vintage jewelry holders.

I have started pricing items for my booth at the Polka Dot Flea  It's been like Christmas going through boxes of goodies that have been packed away for months waiting for the Flea.

I don't think this next one is a jewelry holder, it has a clip on the back to hold a note....Adorable!

Hands down......A great collection lol!

I have been busy the last couple weeks making a HUGE sign to put outside of the Polka Dot Flea and making another ticket booth.  I will share it all with you soon.....Stay tuned!
