A Sweet Stenciled Table and Blogging...How Do I Do It!

I admit stenciling a table is not a real WOW, it's just that sometimes you get just the right table, stencil, and paint.....

....And the finished project turns out nice enough to share

I haven't stenciled in a long time, but then my subscription to "Do it Yourself" arrived and it came with a bonus magazine "Fun with paint" loaded with stencil projects
(This is not a sponsored post)

So, when I was trying to figure out what to do with this little table

I decided to "Get my stencil on"

I painted the table with ballerina pink and used my Martha Stewart Stencils

I filled in the stencil with the grey paint that I had special mixed at Ace for my desk transformation

Then I finished the top with a clear coat of wax

And put it in my booth at Orange Tree, priced at $32

Now to switch gears...If you think you could tolerate any more of my yapping for one day, here's a preview of my guest post at...

.....Kathy at Delightsome life.  She asked if I would
contribute to a series she is doing called

"Blogging...How do you do it"

Thank you for asking Miss Kathy, this was so fun because I've never given the process
of "How I blog" much thought.  Here at The Polka Dot Closet I have a pretty relaxed
approach.  I love blogging, I often say "I'm having more fun than a girl deserves"!

You can see the complete post HERE

And

Remember when I did the post on my "Doggy Bags",

That post is a guest on "Cozy Home Scenes", Shannon is doing a series  called "Paws and Claws"  How cute is that!  If you missed it you can see it HERE

Happy Creating!
Carol

  10. Hi Carol,
I hopped over to her blog to read your interview. You were and are fantastic! I never really thought about some of the points that you made about blogging, especially about using the word "busy" or blog break. Makes sense though and from now on I'm going to be more careful about my choice of words. I don't want something I love to sound like a chore, so thanks for the insight.

I also love your cute little stenciled table. Cute, cute!!

    hugs

  11. Carol, so nice to meet you through Kathy at A Delightsome Life. I like the transformation of the little table, we don't have near the colours of Krylon in Canada as the US. Also, the tutorials are helpful for DIY projects.

  21. Love it! That pink color reminds me of the room I had when I was a very little girl. It had ballerinas on the wall. Maybe that's why.

I realized the other day that that was the last pink room I ever had, but that's a blog post all its own.

The desks are fabulous too. If I've seen them, I forgot 'cause I'm 50.

Clicking to your guest post now.

  26. Love your pretty table, the stencil is great and the gray is a perfect combination. When I was in high school one of my favorite ensemble combos was pink and gray and pink and black. Gray is goooood.

  37. I have a little table almost exactly like that! It's sitting in a corner in my bedroom waiting for me to decide what color to paint it and whether or not to do a waterslide transfer on it :/ Your table is adorable.
I read your guest post and it was great. I agree with so much of what you said....blogging should be fun, answer comments that readers leave, etc, etc. Maybe that's why your blog is one of my favorites...we're kindred spirits in a way ;)
