I put two of these chandeliers in the store window, It's your basic 80's brass light fixture....BUT...With a slight twist!
I sprayed it with Heirloom white paint
Then added chandelier crystals and crystal chains..
........HERE's the twist!!
It's 6ft of pearl garland wrapped around the light after I added the crystals
I think it adds a some extra bling?
You can see the chandeliers here in the store window. They look like a hot mess up close, but from afar it adds a lot of interest.
I found the garland at Micheals in the bridal section. I could not find it at Jo-Annes or Hobby lobby.
I'm going to keep my eyes open for some fancy garland as the Christmas decorations come out in the stores.
It would be easy to wrap around any existing fixture in your home that needs a little fancying up. The garland cost $12.99, but with the coupon it was around $8. I priced these two fixtures at $58 each.
Many of you asked about these big flowers in the window display....Your wish is my command! I'll show you how I made them on my next post....Stay tuned....Yep, I have you all on the edge of your seats lol!
Happy Creating!
Carol
What a GREAT idea. LOVE the bling and that garland was brilliant. My daughter did something similar and she added a bit of extra bling by putting shades on hers and adding beaded garland to the bottoms of the shades. Can't wait to hear about the flowers..although I am moving back on my seat so I don't fall off on the floor waiting! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI love what you did with the chandelier. I think it must be so fun decorating that window--you have done a great job!
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are so sweet in your window. I am so glad you stopped by my blog to see my flowers. I love yours too and can't wait to see how you made them.

Yes, I love the Christmas goodies that can be creatively used year around too and look for them (preferably on clearance for those without the vision to look beyond the obvious holiday uses)!
ReplyDeleteLove it! If only my 90s brass fixture didn't have those awful beveled glass panels. High five!
ReplyDeleteI have two of those brass chandies waiting to be redone. I hope they turn out as pretty as yours, they are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI think you did a fantastic job dressing the window. For your first one you out did yourself. Always love to see what you are doing.

VERY lovely! I'm currently looking for one to paint white and add the extra crystals that I got when I bought a load off of ebay. I want to try it in the dining room to see if I like it better than the aged one first. If not, then I'm going to hang it either in the living room or den.
ReplyDeleteLove yours!
So right now I'm working on lining a picnic basket, painting and distressing some old drawers and now you've given me yet another project to do with the old ugly brass chandy hanging in my garage! Carol, what are you doing to me!!! LOL! I really love the the chest with the postmark too!! The entire window looks great ~ Judi
ReplyDeleteThe garland makes a pretty addition to these lights, Carol, especially with the crystals. I'm trying to figure out how I can bling out the chandelier in our dining area. I like the style of it, but it could always use a little bling! : )
ReplyDeleteSo pretty!! Love the display and what you did with the chandelier!! I have a gold one that I've been wanting to paint up pretty! :) xo Holly
ReplyDeleteThat's cute! I would like a teacup and saucer chandelier for my tea room - and I have the original chandelier that came out of the room, but I hadn't thought to MAKE IT! I could.... maybe someday? Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteExtra bling indeed!
ReplyDeleteI hope they sell soon but not before it's time to change the window display. ♥
