Shabby Chandelier Makeover

I love when I find  ugly Italian chandeliers

No one else wants them and they are just screaming for a makeover

I really liked this pink one, but went with blue this time.  It proved to be a little more difficult...Note to self, don't use striped fabric!  I did not realize when I started that the dimensions of the top and bottom of the shade where different

That meant I had to gather it.  I used a glue called Fabri-Tac, from any craft store.   In the end It turned out OK.

Some ruffles and heirloom white spray paint and I was finished

I sell these in my booth at Orange Tree for $65 and they never last long

Don't pass up these ugly lamps!

Happy Creating!

Carol

  2. That is so funny to me...don't pass up an ugly lamp. Sounds like permission for me to buy some more lamps....my hubs would flip! He tells me no more lamps, no more chairs....I seem to be drawn to them!! Cute how you change the shades!!

  11. I never see lights like that. Your transformation is wonderful and I love the gathers. How do you hang your chandeliers in the booth? I have no way to hang any chandeliers at mine (have some) and am looking for something to use.

  24. Great idea, Carol! I don't think there is ANYTHING you can't makeover! Fabulous!

  25. Only you, with your eye, could transform those things. I picture yours hanging over a tub in a bathroom (clawfoot tub in my head) or a beautiful old vanity.

And I'm getting some of that walnut ink in the previous post. I love the way you age your stuff.

  33. What a gorgeous makeover! It's no surprise that they don't last long in your booth. I always seem to have that problem with stripes. Just when I think something is perfectly square...stripes prove me wrong.
