I had this frame, or architectural piece...Heck, I don't know what to call it?
I think maybe it was a dresser mirror frame?
It had some nice decorative details
I did a LOT of sanding then painted and gathered up some supplies
I stenciled the chandelier on the cork
Then added some plaster roses along the top..tutorial on making plaster appliques HERE
I went into my stash of polymer clay knobs. Tutorial on making clay knobs HERE
And added 4 of the Paris knobs
So there you have it, nothing earth shattering, just something to add to my ever growing stash .......
....To bring to the "Fancy Flea"
Join me Friday, I am going to do a tour of my home for Debbiedoos blog
I took TONS of pictures to get a few good ones......To light.....To dark...
...Move the dead Cat..I'm working to get the pictures just right!
Happy Creating!
Carol, you continue to amaze me with all your creative ideas. You make what starts out as cool but kind of ordinary and make it "extraordinary"! Great job.

Love what you did here, and I think you're right that it's a mirror from a dresser.

Another nice treasure for the Flea!
ReplyDeleteI can't WAIT to see your home! Love the peek! "Move that Cat" LOL!

Wow! That mirror/bulletin board was transformed like you had a magic wand or something. I was also transformed because I went to your links for the knobs and the molds and did I ever learn alot! Thank for sharing that information. I can't wait to start trying these techniques. Have fun at the flea and I hope you do well.
ReplyDeleteHa...just get a little squirt bottle with water in it and aim it at that dead cat. I'll bet it moves quickly. Nice work, again!♥♫
ReplyDeleteCarol - love it!!! You even saw the potential in this not-so-pretty piece! xo
ReplyDelete-pamela )
What a great project--I love it!
ReplyDeleteIt might have been a dresser mirror, but look at it now! A beautiful transformation. Thanks for sharing. Cheers SpecialK XoXo
ReplyDeleteHi Carol, I just found your site and love the bulletin board redo. Your home looks gorgeous as well. I just relocated to the Orlando area from Maine about 6 months ago. I will have to try and make it over to your booth at the antiques mall! I am pretty new to blogging but please stop by and visit. So nice to meet someone local:)
ReplyDelete~Lori
What a cool idea! The stenciled Chandy, and roses make this so pretty! Love that shade of pink too!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are so funny, Carol! I love your comment about the "dead cat".
ReplyDeleteThe old mirror frame is beautiful!
Boy, that piece was a mess, wasn't it? Dresser piece or vanity piece...can't decide. It's amazing how a little bit of this and that can dramatically enhance and improve. Really cute!!
ReplyDeleteOh, and that's one huge, fluffy "dead" cat ;)
Once again you made nothing into something! I have that stencil too, don't you just love it? I'm going to have to make some of your knobs too : )
ReplyDeleteBouncing over from Cozy Home Scenes Party#8 Love the memo board. And the "dead" cat. Haha
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful piece and a beautiful cat. I'm a cat lover.
ReplyDeleteCarol you are truly amazing! I don't know where you find the time to do all the amazing projects that you do! You must have a cook, a maid, and someone to do the laundry! LOL... And the kitty makes the picture purrfect! XoXo
ReplyDeleteWow! That board is fantastic! How do you think of all of these things? I'd like to live inside your head for a day. lol
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your home tour!!
Hi Carol,
ReplyDeleteAnother great piece. I like how you stencil on the cork.
I can't wait to see the rest of your home. I'm going to be featured the following week.
Dee
Unless you price it at $500.00, then that piece will sell lickity split! Speaking of bulletin boards, the technician who has been working on my internet problem finally asked me to move the bulletin board that was next to my computer. It is actually a single form bed spring that I have a million things clipped too. The telephone jack was behind it and it kept falling over on him....LOL. I don't think he thought it was chic.
ReplyDeleteAmazing transformation!
ReplyDeleteAnother great project, Carol. I am looking forward to seeing your house tour. The room that is pictured here is very pretty.
ReplyDeleteKelly
What an incredible find and an amazing transformation.....and your sweet little Kitty all tuckered out!
ReplyDeleteOk, that's the coolest bulletin board i've ever seen. So shabby! Love your kitty too.
ReplyDeleteWhat an incredible bulletin board! It is just so pretty and unique. :-) Thank you so much for sharing it with us at Inspiration Friday this week!
ReplyDeleteVanessa
I love how your bulletin board turned out! That was a perfect use of that frame. The knobs were the perfect addition to hang flowers and such. It's a beauty!!
ReplyDeleteJane
Carol,
ReplyDeleteYep, I think it was a mirror for a dresser but what you have transformed it into is amazing!!
I so love this!!
You are so creative!! Aren't you glad that you are not working as a nurse anymore???? LOL!!
Hugs,
Deb
Carol- I don't know how I missed this before! Your home is absolutely lovely. It is interesting because I have told many people that the REAL Orlando is NOT DizzyWorld (as my SweetCheeks calls it) but it the old downtown Orlando...the one I remember from the 70's when I lived in Florida.
ReplyDeleteYou have done a beautiful job on your home. I love it and every house needs at least one dead cat in it!;>)
I dream of getting back to Florida someday on at least a semi-permanent basis. Hugs- Diana
I am so envious of your workshop. What a great job. Can you tell how you are storing your thread on the side of the cabinet. Mine are just thrown into a drawer and I have to rummage for them.
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job with your home, it's lovely.
