I had the best time shopping at an estate sale this last weekend, this home was jam packed with all the things I LOVE.
I went late in the afternoon and all of these goodies were left, I'm always amazed that shoppers leave all of the goodies I love!
Look at these needle point pillows (They can be sold as is, or taken apart and framed, or used as a chair seat cover), 3 gorgeous vintage hat boxes, and a full roll of vintage rose drawer liner...OH MY!
3 yard pieces of vintage fabric..... Me loves fabric!
Tons of linen and vintage kid leather gloves in their original packages
Be still my heart..... Vintage wrapping paper, cake decorating umbrellas, hats, and gorgeous vintage playing cards
A bisque wall pocket, needle point picture and purse, and 3 vintage pink hangers with clear plastic covers
Some of these goodies will go in my booth at Orange Tree Antiques and some will be staying right here with me!
If I haven't told you lately, THANK YOU for taking the time to drop by!
Happy Creating and Shopping!
Happy Creating and Shopping!

Oh my you certainly did score hugely. Everything is perfectly you my dear. How lovely of someone to save all of this in such good condition just for you to come along and treasure it all.
ReplyDeleteThese images made my heart aglow.
ReplyDeleteThe .needlepoint.
OH! Am I having a heart attack?! Positively breathtaking. And I almost feel sad: Did someone's mother have these lovely things? MAKE these lovely things?... and their offspring didn't want them?
It's so sweet to know they CAME HOME... went home to good homes... and eventually will go to yet another home (or three!) where they will be out in the open, used and loved.
I read something today in the book I bought the other day at Goodwill (the book's called "If You're Going to Eat at the Refrigerator, Pull Up a Chair"), and here's the quote:
"It's already broken." As in, "This lovely teacup is already broken." "This needlepoint pillow is already snagged, moth-eaten, ripped." As in, "This dinner plate that was in great-grandmother's trunk is already chipped."
My dear, things do not last. They'll either rust, decay or be moth-eaten in a drawer somewhere...
OR they'll be used-- FUNCTION-- to serve us with beauty, style, finery and love. Until they are {already... finally} broken.
Some things-- before they're EVER used-- become broken, chipped, cracked, and then they're discarded. Wow. WHAT IS THE PURPOSE for the things we buy? Possess? Craft or make or create? Is it to collect dust? Or is it to USE with appreciation for the way it pleases us, grateful for its loveliness, thankful for its purpose and how well this old thing gives, gives again and keeps on giving?
I'm so excited for the items in this post. SOOO excited for their "lives" that will continue. THANK YOU for rescuing them!
Hugs,
Kelley of Kelley Highway
