How To Make A Babies Breath Wreath

Now that the wedding is over, besides being left with fond memories we were left with tons of gorgeous  flowers, enough to make a Babies Breath Christmas Wreath

Every table at the wedding had a silver teapot filled with roses and babies breath

After the Wedding I hung them all up to dry

Then made them into a wreath

I took a 10" styrofoam wreath and wrapped it with ribbon

Then through trial and error, I found the best way to glue the Babies Breath on, was to take a small bunch and hot glue it down

Then take another small bunch and glue it onto the STEMS of the first bunch, layering them until the whole wreath was covered

I then added some ornaments, dried roses, pearls, and ribbon

And I had a Shabby Christmas wreath for someone special........

.....This is for YOU my new Daughter in Law (I love that she reads my blog)

I know you like vintage, but not really shabby, and you have no place to display or store this now, so I will store it for you, and when the time comes and you get your first house, you will have a Christmas wreath to hang,  a sweet remembrance of your special day!

Now, what to do with all of the flowers I have left......Stay tuned, I have plans!

Happy Creating!

  4. What an awesome way to to the baby's breath Carol! Beautiful wreath and I know your DIL will enjoy it for years to come! Can't wait to see what you do with all those luscious roses- I would stick them in my silver pitchers and have them all over the house!

Am taking a break from painting wood hangers to make scarf holders for Christmas presents and decided to come over and see what new inspiration I would find at my friend's place as I always know there is something great!! Well they are probably ready for coat # 2 now.

  16. What a beautiful and special memento! Several years ago when my folks had their 50th wedding anniversary, I made corsages for all the daughters and granddaughters out of pink roses. My Mom's Christmas tree was all done in pink decorations with lots of crystals, etc. she saved all of the corsages and dried them and used them on her tree every year. It was always so special. I know your new dil will treasure that wreath.

  21. OK, the last part about making and saving it for the Polka Dot DIL made me cry. It really did. That is so very special, and I love it.

I love baby's breath anyway. We always put some on our tree. I've done it for years. It just seems to finish it.

My (older) daughter has mentioned that the ONLY thing she wants as flowers for wedding centerpieces is baby's breath. I think it will look simple and stunning.

Great job, as usual. I want to copy cat you... as usual.

  30. Carol the wedding was great now you have to come down to that normal place is there such a thing? Only you would think in advance and dry the babies breath for a wreath which is just beautiful. I still am in awe of your energy but look forward to reading your blog to find out what carol has done now, you certainly brighten up my day
