A Little Parlor Stool

Before I tell you about my little parlor stool...

...I want to thank you for all of your kind words on the last post about my Dress Form business adventure.   I was truly overwhelmed with all of the kind comments.  I am so honored to be a part of the sisterhood we have in the blogging world that supports, celebrates, and encourages....Thank you.

Now, my little parlor stool

What I started with was a little blue thrift store stool yelling..."Make me pretty!"

Only I didn't start out to make over a stool... I  started out to make a pillow

First I did a white stencil on tan fabric

Then added the corner of a vintage runner (The rest of it had holes), two different vintage laces, and a button.   What a cute pillow this was going to make....But wait a minute....I looked over at the blue stool, put the pillow cover on it and....Oh my gosh, it fit perfect!

Yep, it was meant to be!

I painted the base heirloom white

And I had myself a little parlor stool, I priced it at $38 and put it in my booth at Orange Tree Antiques

Even I thought maybe it was a little to girlie.

I know it would sell right away without the lace, but gosh....... .....Sometimes a girl just gets bored.

Happy Creating!
Carol

  28. I would buy that in a heartbeat! Never too much lace and I have been to the Musee d'Orsay and it was a favorite of mine so very good memories with this. Too bad shipping is outrageous. Such a happy change of thought...pillow top to footstool top. Lovely Dear...
