I had fun altering some hand displays
I'm partnering with Barr Display for the Fancy Flea a show we are doing November 2, 2013 (You can read about it HERE)
When I go into the Barr Display's retail store here in Orlando I'm like a kid in a candy store. Hum...What can I play with??
I know...How about the flesh colored hand display! I used Heirloom white satin spray paint by Rust-Oleum then hot glued lace around the cuff
They had a few hand displays that were already a shiny white. For this one I hot glued on a sequence applique.
And I love this one...I used the cuff of a vintage wedding gown
These are great for sitting on a dresser or vanity to display rings, jewelry, gloves, or necklaces.
Barr Display has a large assortment of hand displays available, type "Hand" in their search box
We will have a limited number of unaltered hands that were store displays available at the Fancy Flea for $10....Hum, how will you alter it???
I love these...Think I'll give myself a hand lol!
Happy Creating!
Carol
They are wonderful!! It would be fun to be a hand model too... just thought of that looking at these pretty hands! Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteI would definitely drape vintage jewelry all over it! What a fun display! Sweet hugs!
ReplyDeleteYou always make things look so pretty! Would be wonderful for rings! Nancy
ReplyDeleteCarol,

You deserve a hand with these beautiful altered displays. Barr must be over-the-moon with your talents. Creative Bliss Dear...
ReplyDeleteThis is exactly the type of thing that you do that sets you apart from others, IMO. You didn't just leave them the way they were. You added your signature style. I love the cuffs and embellishments, and the simple change from flesh to white made a huge difference, too.
ReplyDeleteVery creative. These should sell very well.
ReplyDeleteI love these! So so pretty! Love that display case too. Great idea! Mimi

Welcome!
I was never wild about this type of jewelry display, but LOVE your altered ones! They make them so much more...pretty!
ReplyDeleteThose hands are fabulous! I love them! I have a collection of hands...glove molds and other assorted hands but nothing like that. They're beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGreat job again, Carole! The hand displays are lovely eye-catchers now.
ReplyDeleteWasn't there an old saying somewhere---The Hands Have It---? Well, I'd say the hands have it here for sure. Applause, Applause! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful Carol, I can see them in all sorts of vintage fabric. I was making some from rubber gloves and plaster to hold jewelry in my booth but $10 is very reasonable and definitely more elegant!
ReplyDeleteOh so perfect! Dang I wish I wasn't so far away!!
ReplyDeleteLove this idea Carol and quite a bargain at just $10.
ReplyDeleteThose are the purtiest hands ever!
ReplyDeleteYou are just on a creating high! Fun hands! Love the trunk with your sweet flower pins!
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to come to the Fancy Flea!!!
My birthday was in April!LOL!
Had part 2 of the garage sale today and then loaded up the Jeep and dropped off boxes at the thrift store! That felt good! I'll let you know about my hair. I'm leaning towards coloring it!
Warmly,
deb
I love these. You always add that feminine touch to make everything prettier than it ever was before :)
ReplyDeleteI collect hands . . . that is if I'm out doing yard sales or thrifting and come across hands, they usually end up in my shopping bag :)
Have a wonderful day.
Your blogging sister, Connie :)
What a wonderful idea..I love what you've done. This is something I going to HAVE to do.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely! Very pretty.
ReplyDeleteYour talent is neverending!! I wish I could look at an object and see what you do. I believe you could transform anything into something beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI especially love the wedding gown cuff and all the white hands. Me? I would glove one vintagely with a brooch embellishment, and drape the glove's mate over it.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
