Painting 3 Vintage Tool boxes

Anytime I see vintage tool boxes I buy them...Oh the possibilities

Goodness, the clock is ticking and I have to get some goods ready for the Polka Dot Flea.   The whole reason I'm doing the Flea is to be a vendor at an indoor venue!

After a good cleaning with a wire brush and a wipe down, I painted the two bigger tool boxes with a dry brush technique...Tutorial HERE

The graphics are from Graphics Fairy and were transferred to the boxes with the blender pen method

The graphics on this tool box are the bottom lettering from this graphic

I couldn't help myself...I needed one girlie tool box with polka dots lol

The polka dots were made with a round sponge...No fail method...You can see how HERE

Great for storage

And with spring in the air, they make great planters

So there you have it...Three tool boxes ready for the Polka Dot Flea

I have so many projects in the works......You guys are the best!!!  Thank you for letting me share these projects and this whole Polka Dot Flea journey with you!

Happy Creating
Carol

  26. Oh these are so cool Carol!! I am so happy you are sharing it with us too, especially taking the time the to Blog about it is time consuming. My daughter has been Traveling a lot to Orlando lately, I'll have to check and see if she's scheduled to be there close to the Flea~

  27. My favorite part is the tool box on the chair with flowers. I don't have a vintage tool box. Hmmm... wonder if the husband would notice if I just used his.

Probably not a good idea, right?

  28. You're amazing Carol ! I laughed when I read about the "lazy girls painting method" ! I could never think you're lazy. I'm so sure that your project will be such a success.

  30. Fabulous idea. I have a couple in the garage and a couple in my booth that aren't selling. I was selling them well but slowed down. I think this is just what they need. I might have to visit The Graphics Fairy as well, I've been wanting to try something.

  34. Hi Carol,
you did such a great job with these old tool boxes and I love how you used the one for jewelery and the other for flowers. The paint and transfers transform them from so masculine, to something only a lady could love and this lady does :)
    Have a lovely weekend.
