Glamping Art

Mix a little Glam + Camping and you have "Glamping"!

I had a lot of fun this past week framing up these cute little vintage campers.......Glampers

I bought this fun fabric a while back at a little quilting shop outside of Orlando......

....And hung onto it until.......Inspiration finally hit!!

I didn't want to waste the fabric by simply making a couple pillows.   So, I made the most of it by cutting out each camper and framing it.

I added a few do-dadas, decorative stitches, and vintage rick rack to make each one unique.

I love all of the vintage trailers that people are glamming up!

I plan on selling these at the next Polka Dot Flea.  Yep, there is going to be another one!  I will share the details on my next post.

Here's what I'm thinking....The Central Florida Fairgrounds has 600 camping spots available, many in a gorgeous tree lined area on a lake.  If I do a two day show (Details soon) how great would it be for Glampers to come spend the weekend right on the grounds and take in the Flea?

And....Maybe... pick up a cute little framed Glamper at the show?

Happy Creating
Carol

  7. These little pictures are sooo cute! I so want one. And saved a T-shirt a good while back to go into my camper. I should make one of these for inspiration!
I would love to go GLAMPING! We bought a trailer to re-do about 3 1/2 years ago...and had to quit after The Honey's heart attack! I just want to camp in it!
Currently...it's gutted and no way to do that.

  9. Hé hé ! Always new and good ideas stunning Carol ! Glamping love this new word now in my vocabulary. We don't have this trend here in France, but I like it very much.

  10. Terrific idea, Carol.
I was thinking of how sweet they'd look in a toddlers room but now I can see one of those campers buying it for the wife and put it close to the "kitchen" are. She'd love that "cowgirls go to heaven..." quote. It would make her smile and cooking can only get better ahahahah
Yay, you're revving for another? Girl, I'm still revpovering from the first ahahahah Go Carol! This is REALLY your "thing".
    Love,
    Teresa

  17. Carol, these are wonderful and I know that they are going to be very popular . . . not only in Florida but all over the country. As always you have hit the nail on the head. . . you seem to know what we like :)
Also, I think having a glaming camp-over at your Polka Dot Flea is a great idea. They could even pick a charity and have a time to sell tickets for an open house tour of their trailers.
    Wishing you a wonderful week.

  33. This is going to be absolutely awesome! Something I can only dream of attending. But will look forward to seeing pictures next year. Glamping is getting to be such a hot thing with so many restoring these old broken down campers. It's so cool to know that these are being picked off of back yard lots and being made useful again. Can you just see that fairgrounds campground full of vintage campers???? I can! Sweet!!!!
