Shabby Fabric Easter Wreath

Since I'm hosting my family for Easter dinner I wanted a wreath for my front door

I loved this fabric garland that I made and showed you on a previous post HERE  and thought it would transfer well to a door wreath

I used a wire wreath frame and tied torn fabric strips around it

Then hot glued on styrofoam eggs

And a bunch of bunnies I've had forever......I don't even know where I got them....Maybe an estate sale?

And there you have it, a wreath for my front door....Not great, but it will do!

I'll be busy this weekend preparing for Easter dinner....This is my family's traditional Easter menu, it's the same every year....It never changes.

Honey spiral cut ham
Cheese potatoes
Caesars salad
Deviled eggs
Green bean casserole
Brown and serve rolls
mustard mayonnaise sauce for the ham

I always find it interesting what other families prepare for their traditional Easter dinners.   My girlfriend was telling me that she always makes lamb shanks...Eww I say!

.......What's on your Easter dinner menu?

Happy Creating

Carol

  1. That is a charming Easter wreath. We are having ham too, but not spiral cut. How to you keep that kind from drying out when warming/cooking it in the oven?

  5. Whatever is brought to Mother and me, that's what we'll have. She'll hopefully be home then following her knee replacement surgery. I wanted to bake my first lamb cake this year, but that will not happen.

I'm just grateful to be with Mother.

    Hugs,
    Kelley~

  8. Lamb seems to be a big thing for a lot of people for Easter. I think of an Easter lamb and couldn't bear to think of eating one. My Uncle raised them and I could NEVER eat lamb-even as a kid.

That wreath is very, very cute. I used to have a bunch of little cats like your bunnies. Hmmm...now WHERE did they get to? xo Diana

  13. The wreath is just perfect to greet your guests - love the colors. Our Italian Easter is a bit different. We start off with an antipasto and a pizza rustica torte, then serve lasagna with garlic bread, next it's onto a baked ham, green salad, asparagus, roasted small potatoes and sweetened baby carrots. For dessert it's pizza dolce, italian pastries, and a grain pie. Basically, Thanksgiving menu without the turkey & sweet potatoes!

  16. Pretty wreath, so Eastery...is that right? Or is it Easterly??? That sounds like an impending hurricane!! Oh well!

I suggested ham to my husband who said, "Ewwww!!', so I suggested leg of lamb. Good, he said. When I mentioned it later, he said, "I didn't say that; I said pork loin." Ok, I said, no you didn't, but I'll buy pork loin for Easter. I'm with you; I prefer ham!! If he comes up with another idea, we might just have tuna fish sandwiches. Happy Easter!!!!!!

  17. Wishing you a blessed Easter. It's good to have family to share with.
We usually have spiral cut ham, sweet 'tater casserole, smashed 'taters (some don't like sweet 'taters, can you imagine???) green beans, pineapple.
This year I ordered the whole meal from Kroger, so it's a bit different. But then, I don't have to cook !!!

  22. I don't have a written-in-the-stone menu for any Celebration.
I believe t was because I was raised in one of those houses where food was almost a battle for those not wanting what always has been... so when I had my own home I said there wouldn't be any of this. We now hit the comfortable time where everyone asks for something to be done again but first years if kids wanted fries on Christmas night (something that would be inconceivable when I grew up) they would have fries ahahahahah
I love your wreath. You're one of those creative genius that when you create something makes us wonder "why didn't I think of this?" ahahahahah. Because you had to go first and then inspire us. Love love it. And love your menu!
    Happy Easter!!!
