Shopping Atlanta And The Haven Conference

I'm back and I had so much fun shopping Atlanta and attending the Haven Conference!

I flew up from Orlando on Tuesday with Sherry from No Minimalist Here (The perfect travel companion).   Since the Haven Conference did not start until Thursday afternoon we got our shopping on.

First stop was the Ballard outlet

Then on to the downtown historic district of a little town called Roswell...Not the alien town, that's Roswell New Mexico!  Loaded with gift and antique stores.

....Time for lunch at a wonderful French restaurant called Roswell Provisions

The best quiche I've ever had

Then Thursday morning we shopped a cool vintage decorator store called Kudzu & Company

Then on To the Haven Conference on Thursday afternoon

We checked in at the Grand Hyatt and then met all of the bloggers at a meet and greet in the gardens

Complete with drinks and appetizers...The conference included just about all of our meals...Breakfasts, snacks, lunches and evening get togethers with heavy appetizers.  Ryobi even sponsored a full coffee bar for the entirety of the conference.....YUM

The days were jam packed with sessions of your choosing

Modern Masters painting class

Here's a list of the sessions I attended

How to make Facebook work for you
Learn from Modern Masters
Ad revenue
Power and Profit of branding your blog
An inbox of opportunity-Newsletters
Making money with affiliates
Google analytics

There was also sessions on photography, videos, woodworking, treasure hunting, instagraming, and Many more.

Before and after the sessions I visited all of the amazing vendors booths showing the latest in everything ranging from floor coverings, to new paints, counter tops, tools and furniture.

Along the way I picked up all of the samples and gifts that each sponsor and vendor generously gave away at their booths or in the swag bags.  This is just a sampling and more gifts and samples are coming in the mail!

I came home with one HUGE suitcase filled with gifts and all sorts of goodies I can't wait to try

Saturday there was an inspirational closing session where even more gifts were given away in a drawing.....I didn't win

The conference ended Saturday night with bloggers kicking up their heals at the dance party.

This was a fun and informative conference.  It was run like a well oiled machine and the attention to detail was phenomenal!  I learned so much and enjoyed meeting and mingling with like mined people and connecting with companies that support and understand the value of bloggers.

I know you would enjoy attending.   This is an annual conference for seasoned and newbie bloggers alike.

Since there are no secrets at The Polka Dot Closet here is the price breakdown (just the Haven portion, not the pre-trip) in case you want to save your pennies for next years Haven Conference.

$300 Conference fee
$250 Airfare...Save if you drive
$498 Hotel room....Save by sharing a room
$25 food not included in conference........
......The whole experience...PRICELESS!

Happy Creating
Carol

I have yet to get to Haven! I am always so disappointed I can never make it. It's typically on Alex's or Mikes birthday. This year, I believe the same. Oh well, I can enjoy all you ladies telling me about it. It looks so awesome.

If you are unable to use alternative energy for your entire house, start with just one room. You can use alternative energy sources in one room and when you are ready, install it in another room. This way you are not overwhelmed with the expense of making over your house to use alternative energy.

Natural sources of energy can be unpredictable, which is why you should always have Play Bazar a back-up plan. Find out more about net-metering plans: in most towns, you will be allows to hook your system to the main power grid and use it when there is not enough sun or wind for your green energy solution to function properly.
