I love to transform serving trays from the 70's
I snap them up anytime I can, so sweet....But, not so trendy
I give them a coat of white paint and wax, then the fun part...
....Since it has a glass top you can use fabric, needlepoint, vintage material, paper, you can even use those vintage plastic tablecloths...

I put this in my booth at Orange Tree Antiques and priced it at $20 and... Oh la la, it sold the first day!

Love this, the tray is an eye catcher, no wonder it sold fast! Did you know that Aaron Brothers Art and Framing sells very large sheets of many types of paper that would work. I have just glanced at them but I saw the Paris type, french and old map paper...as two examples. This reminded me to go back there to get some!

Do you keep the cross stitch and use it elsewhere? I have been pulling them out of frames and trays and making them into pillows or door hangers. Some are quite sweet but may need a bit of altering. (Like this one I would pull the words out and just use the girl.) Just wondering if you found some other fab use for them. And I do love the tray!

Hi Carol, It pleases me to no end . . .that you want to copy one of my ideas. I consider you the number one craft and redo expert. About my spice rack: I went to Wal-Mart and found shakers that had three size holes and a slider to close them all off, then had Steve build it accordingly. It is the best spice rack I've ever owned . . . customized to what we use most :)

Very pretty! I'll have to keep an eye out for those too. I am sometimes amazed at estate sales at what other people buy.(She got up at 5am, stood in line for an hour or more and bought THAT?)LOL..I am sure some people think the same of some of my "finds"..wtheck? Fab upcycle!
