A Sweet Little Shabby Cabinet


This Transformation is so sweet it will make your teeth hurt!


I got this cabinet last month when my Mom gave up her snowbird status and moved to Orlando full time.  I have had my eye on it for years and there was no room for it in her new place...Oh, to bad..Yea!


I painted it heirloom white and added free porcelain flowers to the top


Then added a water slide decal.  I got the graphic frame from Graphics Fairy and wrote the word "Linen.  Let me just tell you, putting a decal this large on a window...Nightmare, it took 3 attempts and a lot of bad words, kind of like "Poop"!


I used a thrift store wall paper on the inside, I think it's Laura Ashley

It's going in my guest room, but the room is to dark to photograph in


I love it!  My apologies to all my friends out there who aren't into the whole shabby white thing...I know your teeth are hurting from the sweetness!

Wait a minute...Where did I get those knobs?


I made them and you can too!

    Oh it is pretty! Glad you and the decal finally got along! Crafting can sometimes be very frustrating...but completion is such delight!

    That is just adorable! I love it.
    That little mirrored tray is the crowning touch for me! The roses and the hardware change the whole look too.

    I have thoughts of painting all my furniture white like this,, often,, or small apartment now we are retired would be the best situation for this,, I just can't get my nerve up,, scaredy cat I am,, i so admire this,, maybe I should throw caution to the wind and just do it! You are my inspiration you are!!

    hi, Carol...another cute project...glad you get to enjoy this one! I have to tell you that the wallpapaer that you used is a Laura Ashley and was the wallpaper I used in my master bath in my very first house in South Tampa. I fell in love with it at the wallpaper store...and I still love it...perfect for your little cabinet.

    My teeth hurt, but it might be from grinning. I love it and it is PERFECT painted shabby white. Some thing just beg for white, and this piece is one of them.

    It could not be lovelier displayed the way it is, too.

    Girl, there's nuttin you can't do! It's fabulous! I love the shabby look and have a few white shabby things. But I also loooove other looks. I am in biggie trouble whenever we do buy a house because I don't know which way I'll lean in decorating it!

    Love how this turned out. The before and after pictures show how a bit of paint a decal and some porcelain roses can transform a piece. Love it, looks great with the vintage linens inside.

    I think my Mom has that same corner cabinet! It turned out great Carol. I used a very large and long and skinny decal not too long ago and it too was hard as heck to get on. But the results, like yours, was worth it. xo

    Carol, I love your hutch makeover, and it's not too sweet for me. I do like shabby chic - bright cheery with soft colors.

    Your cabinet knobs are a delight and they look wonderful on the hutch.

    I think it will be perfect in a guest room - how lucky to be a guest.

There is a link on the phrase 'free porcelain flowers' but I couldn't get the link to work. Can you tell me what it references? Where the porcelain flowers reclaimed from something else?     Sheer Perfection, It makes me want to crawl into a warm bed and wrap myself under a pretty pink floral quilt. I'm sure your guests will feel right at home when they look at this lovely "redo" of your cupboard. Stunning!

    Oh man I dearly LOVE that! I just saw one some where made of 2 doors. One was a wooden door and the other one was a glass door for the opening door of the cabinet. It was really neat!
    I love this though and your knobs! oh my gosh!!!! LOVE em!
