I found a wonderful little stool at auction along with a vintage rubber stamp set
This is the 1940's rubber stamp set I bought at auction
And this was the little stool.
I wasn't trying to be artsy with my photo, it was the humidity here in Orlando fogging up the lens
I went to Graphics Fairy and found French advertising words
Then stamped away, I did it just by eyeballing, so it is not all perfectly straight, part of the charm...Maybe?
I used Versacraft fabric ink. I feel more comfortable using ink for fabric, so if the stool ever got wet, the graphics would never run or fade.
After Martins inspection I put the stool in my booth at Orange Tree and priced it at $28
I am totally in love with this project!!
I love the look and versatility of these vintage stamps, I think you will be seeing more rubber stamp projects in the future.
Happy Creating!
Carol

ReplyDeleteThat stool is just fabulous, and at $28.00 it won't be in your booth long.. Those vintage stamps, wow what a great find. I think I'm off today to find some fabric ink.. I use the fabric paint, but have not tried the ink yet...can't wait to try it. Thanks for inspiring me.

Love the stool and Martin too!!! One day I'm going to make it to your booth. I just live a couple of hours away...
ReplyDeleteCute as it can be Carol! I found some old stamps that had been used for plants at a nursery. They had great names like Mrs. Roosevelt and the neat wooden handles. Decided to sale them on ebay. Went for a great price. I was a happy camper. Of course I had to keep a few of them. Love your set! Keep and enjoy. xo
ReplyDeleteCarol - Love your blog! Wish I could find an old stamp set like that. :) Thank you so much for stopping by & following my blog. I'm following you too. So happy we found each other and cannot wait to browse around here...xoxo

ReplyDeleteSo cute...see, you were meant to keep that cute little stamping set! Yes, and I agree, $28 is a great buy for that little stool!
ReplyDeleteThe stool is gorgeous, and I bet it finds a new home quickly. And I was reading this and going, oh yes, that's nice, that's really lovely and then...
ReplyDelete....You can get STAMPING INK FOR FABRIC??? Really? I'm a total stamping newbie, I don't even know how to clean my stamps, bit I've got a custom one made (Of the bunnyfly you see by this post) and I'd love to make some bunnyfly fabric. Custom fabric is pricey...but if I could stamp my own? Wow! So, thank you so much for pointing the way
Hugs!
Beverley

ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous find that stamp set is! *swoon* And love what you did with it.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love that you sometimes use pictures with the kitty in them. It adds such a warm touch- those of use with cats know that they must inspect everything, and seeing them doing that in pictures causes a giggle and a head nod!
That little vintage stamp set is the gift that keeps on giving! The remade stool now has "Carol" written all over it.
