Until my son got engaged I was totally out of the loop as to the latest wedding trends. Something that is popular now is special hangers for for the bride and bridesmaids
Besides being a gift for the bridesmaids it's also used for pictures, the bride and her maids (That sounds funny) all hang their dresses up before the wedding for a photo
The future DIL and I had thrown around the idea of doing really fancy hangers like the ones I made HERE
But, then the she found white wooden hangers and another Idea was born.....
We used frame graphics from the Graphics Fairy, photo shopped in a rose, and added their names
These were printed on water slide decals (The water slide tutorial is HERE) and finished with a bow. The water slide decal makes it look like the graphic was painted right on the hanger
I have to ask the Mother's of the Groom, did it kind of freak you out a little the first time you saw in print "Mrs" with your name? I never gave it any thought before we made these hangers. It's kind of like OMG, my kid's getting married, and "She" gets my name LOL!
This weekend my Mom and I are heading from Orlando to Clearwater for the DIL's wedding shower, I'll take lots of pictures to share...Have a great holiday weekend.

These are so pretty! My niece just got a pretty hanger this past weekend at her bridal shower. I had no idea they were all the rage now. Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty and I love the idea, Carol! I remember it took me a little while {about a week, I guess} to sign my name properly after I got married. It was kind of like at the beginning of a new year when you keep using the past year's date.
ReplyDeleteYour creativity never ceases to amaze me! The hangers are so romantic.
ReplyDeleteOh Carol hai avuto un'idea grandiosa.... Sono meravigliosi....
ReplyDeleteCiao Simona
My son got married in April and it is odd to think of them as married. I went shopping with them a few days ago and was struck by the fact that my DIL was picking up items with her new initial. Gosh! She's one of us!:-)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh are these wonderful. I have designed and sold lots of hangers and these are so pretty. Love the name idea. Your fancy ones are gorgeous too, but these for the girls are perfect.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you and dear and near future DIL are getting lots accomplished. The wedding will be just beautiful.
Happy Creating, Celestina Marie
I've been enjoying reading all of your wedding posts. This is going to be the most memorable wedding ever! What amazing ideas you have incorported. laurie
ReplyDeleteHave the best time at the shower! :) I love your hangers, these are absolutely beautiful! :D
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Great idea, Carol!
ReplyDeleteI usually do white and ivory ones with a lot of lace on them for my Craft Fairs!
Have a great weekend! You are not in the path of the storm, are you?
Hugs,
Deb
I love this idea and it's such a lovely keepsake! I can see how the Mrs. would freak you out. ~ Maureen
ReplyDeleteCarol- I have not seen these anywhere. They would make a cute little tag-on gift for a shower, too. One for the bride and one for the groom- xo Diana

ReplyDeleteI think you're going to start a new trend with your wooden wedding hangers!
I had to go back through everything and see what you've created. Wow, have you been having fun. Everything is going to be so unique to your son and DIL's wedding. I can't wait to see it all in place.
Oh, they're beautiful! Somehow I missed the memo about the "girls" hanging up their dresses for a photo! What a sweet idea!
ReplyDeleteI remember standing outside the church after the ceremony on my wedding day when one of my husband's relatives addressed me as Mrs. New Last Name, and I didn't realize that she was talking to me!
And my poor SIL, who is also a Pat, had to share her complete name with me until she got married two years later!
xoxo
I love the wooden hangers! As a person who has photographed many weddings those will make for great photos!
ReplyDeleteohhh..maybe my daughter will like that idea!

These are wonderful and certainly creative...I so wish I had known you when my son was getting married. I would have loved to do these for my DIL and her friends.
ReplyDeleteSafe travels sweetie
What a wonderful idea and you did them up beautifully. This was a new idea to me, but I must say I quite like it. I just recently spray painted an old wooden hanger like these, with your Heirloom white.. so I could hang up some of my vintage linens I've been collecting. I just need a few more of those hangers now.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day at the shower.
Hi Carol...love your entire blog. Totally wrote down your entire instructions (at midnight)for your lovely fabric flowers. I'm going to use these flowers (if they turn out like yours!) in my next giveaway coming up on Monday. Still trying to get it done at the last minute! ReplyDeleteThanks for the comments on my blog, I realy appreciate them and about the magazine, it's my guilty pleasure also. I sent a friend and blogger to your blog for ideas on using fabric on something like a suitcase, because I figured if anyone had a great suggestion or tutorial that would apply, you would.
