Rehearsal Dinner Invites And Doggy Biscuits

My Son and grand dog Dora were visiting from DC last week so, it was a perfect time to make dog biscuits for my son's wedding rehearsal dinner since I had a dog taster right on premises

Let me explain...My Son is getting married Thanksgiving weekend, and I'm hosting the rehearsal dinner at an outside cafe close to my home in downtown Orlando

My Son loves his dog Dora and since it's an outside cafe, puppies are allowed, so I'm having a
PUPPY BAR for our doggy guests

I did a post HERE on the doggy bags I made as party favors

I wasn't sure what treats I was going to put in the bags, then the sweet folks at

Read my post and sent me dog cookie cutters ....

.....And cellophane bags....How nice was that!!!

They Also gave me the link to CopyKat Recipes who posted this super simple recipe to make dog biscuits.  Now, girlfriends, I feel a lot more comfortable holding a paint brush than a spatula, so if I say this is easy.....It is!

Here's the ingredients

My grand dog, LOVED them!

I will definitely make these again.

My brother told me he has a  co-worker that makes up cellophane bags of dog treats every year as Christmas gifts for co-workers with dogs....What a great idea!

Speaking of Christmas gifts Cloud K9, not only has cookie cutters of all makes and models of dogs, they have tons of doggie, gifts and clothes too!

Before I leave you, I want to give you an idea for what you can do with  any left over dough.........You could free form!

Oh no, my Mom reads my blog and she doesn't like potty (Or in this case poopy) humor.........Sorry Mom, I couldn't help myself!

Happy Creating!

Carol

Thank you Cloud K9

  1. Oh my gosh......you forgot one shape. Bryn and Dolly love the biscuits I make (same recipe) especially the cat shaped ones cause it's the only time they get the upper bite on Miss Maui. She does rule the household.
What adorable bags you have and how nice of the people at Cloud K9 to send you the gift. Really enjoying your wedding preparations.....have fun!

  4. What a wonderful idea, and all the work you're doing to make all the puppy guests feel welcome. I've toyed with the idea of making dog treats, but haven't do it yet. My d-i-l did make some a few years ago. Their beagle mix who's appetite knows no bounds.. sat in front of the oven while they were in there waiting for them to come out. I don't think she moved the whole time.. ha!!!

  13. You have way too much fun! The p**p ones made me laugh out loud. I make treats for my dogs, but don't have the patience to do cut outs, just bake in a pan. Anyhoo, your ideas are so cute.

I'll have to make some of those biscuits for my dog, he is so fickle about his food, I hope he'll like this recipe.

  15. Can you hear me laughing? I love your potty humor! What a clever idea for the doggy bags and those treats look good enough for human consumption...well the dog shaped ones anyway. Love the casual dining idea for the rehearsal dinner!

  16. Carol,
You made me laugh right out loud! You are too funny. I love the doggie treats, and that was really nice of that company to send all that to you. I think you did a great job making them and I bet you can cook and bake better than you are letting on. I do feel more comfortable with a paintbrush than a spatula too, but it is probably because I would rather paint than cook!!!
Thanks for visiting and leaving the nice comment. Any and all encouragement is gladly welcomed, because I feel like maybe I shouldn't have tried to make three. I'll do it but yikes, lots of little squares this week! When I make my own patterns I keep it quick and simple, not too many little pieces! I have too many things I want to make so I can't spend crazy amounts of time on everything. Thanks again for the positive thoughts!
    Hugs,
    Julie

I forgot to mention, I did find the same cookie jar much cheaper, and am thinking seriously about snatching it up! You're right, a girl just has to treat herself sometimes!!!! Oh boy, just what I need, encouragement to spend some more money!!!!! :)
    More hugs,
    Julie

  21. Carol,

I have been a follower of your blog for a couple of months. I really enjoy your posts!

I am amused by this post, because I live in a town where dogs rule (Laramie, WY)! A good percentage of the population love outdoor activities and they share these activities with their dogs. Many dogs have attended weddings and other celebratory events. (At my own wedding years ago, one of the guest dogs ate my food when my husband and I were asked to pose for photos by friends.)

I think your doggy bag treats are great, and your recipe is simple and obviously tasty (perhaps for some humans as well as for dogs)!

Something to think about for Christmas gifts for my many dog friends.

I wish your son, your soon to be DIL and your grand dog, the best of wishes!
