A Trio of Shabby Chairs


I found three perfect little chairs at the thrift store........ Perfect for transformations!

First up 


I know, I know...I hated to paint it, but...


...I know what will sell in my booth at Orange Tree, and that is: anything sweet and shabby.  I purchased this--oh so sweet--floral fabric from Carousel Designs for $8.40 a yard

Next up, this little vanity chair
 

I used a stencil with white paint on this chair and the next one. I saw this white paint/ tan fabric combo at Little Miss Maggie, and loved it!   I have made quite a few stools and chairs with this paint and fabric combo and they sell immediately....I priced them between $32-$36
Give it a try, it appears to be a hot seller!

And last up this dining chair, you've seen them with the raised rose on the back



There...You've officially had your chair fix for the day!

 Once again I want you to know how much I appreciate you stopping by...I know it is a few minutes of your day that you will never get back, and my heart soars with the fact that you decided to spend those few minutes with me!

    So cute! I did a chair this week in blue with a burlap-like seat; but I didn't stencil it as you have here. So pretty! :)

    Love them all Carol!! I have always had an affinity with anything that has a harp on it. I just bought a side table for my family room with the harp motif on each end. A big hug and congratulations on being published in Stampington. Cool! xo

    Great fix ups, Carol. I have a set of 8 of those rosette chairs(last photo). However, I acquired them over the years and stripped them all down....lol...so I guess I WON'T be painting them..but I LOVE yours-xo Diana

    Dear Carol, you are the wizard of make-overs. I need you here helping me sand on Gypsy Rose,LOL. I already have about 25 hours of sanding time in. Once we get this hard stuff done and start oiling and painting, she'll start to shine:)
    Your chair make-overs and absolute amazing . . . they are going to sell almost before you set them down in your booth. You amaze me!

    They are all beautiful, Carol! I am going to be looking for chairs for my booth, but it seems I will have to find those without fabric. Apparently, there is a thing in Ohio where you have to have them sprayed if they are second hand and I'm still trying to figure out what you do when it's new filling and fabric. This goes for pillows, too. So this might be a damper on those things I want to have in my booth now.

    I could paint the last two chairs, but the 1st I'm not really sure.
    But if the objective is for re-sale you have to do what you have to do! It really does look better.

    Beautiful, I love them all. After spending time on your blog, I'm considering painting some of my antiques I spent many many hours stripping years ago. If I thought I could do as good of a job as you I wouldn't hesitate. I love everything you do!!!

    Personally, I think that painting a random solo chair is the way to go. My problem is getting the courage to paint a set of them. (But I have!)

    My favorite is the lyre back vanity chair. I love that!

    I just love stopping in to see what you are creating. I've got to get brave and do this to some chairs I have. When I started painting things, everybody wanted it smooth, covered and perfect. I've not really adapted to this messy, rubbed off , old world charm we all love now. I bought some supplies but haven't been brave enough to try really "messing" it up. I believe you have inspired me and I have some cute burlap ready to go.

    All three chairs came out stunning but what also caught my eye was the Tussie Mussie on the first chair. I am sure you also made that too. Very pretty!!

    I LOVE THE MUSIC CHAIR!!! Perfectly done. Chairs, one can never ever have too many. Well maybe if you live in a round house I suppose but if there is corner without a purpose, BUY a chair I say!
