Final Preparations For The Polka Dot Flea

I wanted to share with you some of the final preparations for the Polka Dot Flea on June 7th...Only 2 days away!!!

Remember when I had you vote on a color for the Polka Dot Flea bags?  Majority ruled and here they are...I love them!

These mannequins look mighty fine wearing ONLY their Polka Dot Flea bags, but........Clothing is NOT optional at the Flea :)

Barr Display one of the Polka Dot Flea's fabulous sponsors, printed 3000 bags!

Here they are, ready to go in their warehouse......Yikkes...This looks like a lot of bags!

Now, if vendors or customers have a question or need help....The Polka Dot Flea staff will be easy to identify in their snappy Staff shirts

And communications among the staff should be seamless with their very cool walkie talkies....All charged up and ready to go

These signs are so cool....When people arrive at the Central Florida Fairgrounds all they have to do is.....Follow the signs!

Chalkboard signs for the vendors refreshment table during set up.  My son did these, I had no idea he had this talent...Bad Mom!

It's going to be a crazy couple days!  It will start Thursday with loading the truck with merchandise for my booth.  Sometimes I forget... The whole reason I organized the Polka Dot Flea was so that I could sell at an indoor air conditioned venue!

We will also be loading all of the decor for the venue

Then we will be at the fairgrounds at 7am Friday morning to set up and mark off booth spaces.  The vendors will arrive at 12noon and set up until 7pm.

Saturday (The day of the Flea) we will be there at 7am and the doors will open at 9am

The Polka Dot Flea will close at 4pm when we will once again load the truck.  After we unload the truck we will be joining all of the customers and vendors at the Polka Dot Flea after party sponsored by Adjectives Market.  A fun way to unwind and chat with customers and fellow vendors in a relaxed atmosphere with music, food, and drinks.....It doesn't get any better!

I am always good about getting back to your comments, but you might have to give me a few days as I will be a LITTLE bit busy lol.
I will, of course, be back with tons of pictures and I will honestly tell you how it all went down.

Wish me luck and thank you for your sincere support!

Happy Creating!

Decor For The Polka Dot Flea Venue

I have been busy working on decor for the Polka Dot Flea....I have 7000 sq feet to decorate!

I am going to ask you to use your imagination a little on this post

The front of the Polka Dot Flea venue has this great front porch

I showed you the bike I'm going to lean up against the railing...

.......And the vintage sheet music flowers for the flower boxes....

...But I needed something to hang between the posts.

So, when I made this garland for my booth at the Flea I thought eureka....

.........This would be perfect to hang between the front porch poles of the venue with a Polka Dot Flea sign

I am so lucky to have Barr Display not only as a sponsor for the Flea, but a vendor too.   They are letting me use stanchions (Those rope things they use at theaters) to direct the shoppers...

......(I'm dreaming big, thinking tons of people) to the ticket booth.

They come with blue ropes that I just HAD to cover with polka dot fabric...Details...It's all in the details

The first thing shoppers will see when they walk in the door is the Swimming Hole

Now, I had one more area I had to address....A 7000 sq foot building with 30 foot ceilings...Yikkes!

I envisioned polka dots....100's of polka dots hanging from the ceiling.....Are you starting to get the vision?

It took me 2 weeks to cut 100's of foam board polka dots then paint, decorate, and string them with fishline.

A huge thank you goes out to my blogging friend Francie from The Scented Cottage.....

...Who sent me 80 silver pie crust covers.  She saved the covers knowing she would use them on some project......I'm so glad it was my project, it saved me another 2 weeks of work!

One last project was a 140 foot flag garland to string across the ceiling

Everything for the Polka Dot Flea is coming along great.....And coming up fast!

I would love for you to visit the Polka Dot Flea website HERE
