Wow! All the clothes are beautiful. I love the pink lingerie but the blue dress is my favorite. My Grandma was actually married in a similar dress. It was a purple sort of periwinkle dress. It's just gorgeous and so reminds me of that blue dress! Have a great day! ~ Jamie
My Dana's a size 4... She would LOVE that brocade.
Honestly, I had a lump in my throat. A lifetime of pretties... Were they ever used? Enjoyed? Did they ever take someone's breath away and the memory of a lovely lady was pressed between the pages of someone's mind wearing such lovelies?
Baby shoes? Bigger lump in the throat... Almost sad, too, in a way. I've never been to an estate sale. I think I would be bawling the entire time.
This stuff was so very beautiful.
Happy week, Carol!

P.S. If you need me, you know where to find me: In the Wreck'reation Station...
so beautiful and precious. It's the love for lace and so beutiful dresses which make me realize my own princess costumes for the dreamy Venice carnival where I go every year !

I think I spy some ball attire in the mix! Great stuff...And that blue srug is so pretty...xoxox Diane
So much beauty and wonderment!
I have a cousin who got married in her greatgrandmother's night gowns... she - my cousin - was a bit on the eccentric side but the fact is that those were other times and some pieces unbelievably detailed and wonderful. :sigh: enough to wear for your wedding what your greats used in bed, I guess ahahahahah
One more thing to add to my "100 things to do..." list: Visit an Estate Sale!
Thank you so much for sharing!
Yours,
Teresa
What an absolutely splendid treasure chest full of goodies you found! Lovely!

It sounds and looks like you got some great things, Carol! Love that blue dress.
Here in Ohio, you apparently have to spray upholstered and bedding items that are secondhand with something called Steri-Fab. Even if you make them over with new fabric and all. I've been trying to find out about pillows I make from all NEW material, but no one seems to have an answer. I may just stick a tag on them that says they are made from all new material. I know I've been in other antique malls and thrift stores that do not have a "sterilized" tag on them, so this was new to me.
Just Gorgeous! I love all the vintage goodies. Thanks for sharing, Di
oh my gosh, another time , another place, wouldn't it be lovely to dress like this,
So pretty!! I kept a couple my grandmothers pretty slips. Not sure why...but I couldn't resist their pretty details. She was petite...maybe 5ft tall...I am 5' 9". Haha :)
I go weak in the knees over vintage slips and those are all 4-star. What a fun sale!
I love the girlie girl estate sales. Everything is beautiful. Glad you found such a good sale.
Love finding those perfect sales! It's all so pretty!
I would SO wear that pretty Blue Dress too! I don't see a size 4 in my future! LOL!!!
I love it when the sale is "ME" and want to buy everything!
LOVE the chair makeovers!
Have my duty day today, so it's off to "work" I go! Just had to see what you have been up to!
Warmly,
deb
Carol you hit the jack pot. Wow what great treasures.
Love your goodies and I bet the veils are awesome.
Have fun.
XO
Love it all! Can't wait to see what you do with the veils. My aunt makes Christmas tree skirts out of wedding dresses. They are stunning!
Beautiful treasures from another era when a lady was a lady and well dressed 24/7. Thank goodness an estate sale was held instead of filling the dumpster my family will do. Time honored bliss...
Carol you finds are absolutely gorgeous!!
Oh you were holding out on me!! I was at the Fancy Flea and you were picking up great things locally.... I love those slips! I can't wait to see the veils.
Blessings,
Amy Jo

Ooo! So pretty! I would never wear anything like these but i love to look at them! ♥
Oh my! Heaven on earth. Love everything.
LOL~~~yes I sometimes wonder what my estate sale will look like!!! Boy did you hit the jackpot...and there's more? The items look to be in pristine condition.
happiness~~~Mickie
There is something so unmistakably ethereal about the linens and such from yesteryear. The young ones can keep the styles of today. As for me, the older the design the warmer my heart is to it. I love the photo you took. That would be awesome in a large print and framed. Hugs. Tammy
ohhh my TREASURES ! sadly there are no estate sales around here so I will just drool over your finds.
I have a number of vintage wedding veils, wanna do cross over posts? : )
These are so beautiful and real vintage treasures.
Oh Wow Carol, I could hardly contain myself if I step into a estate sale like this. You have some pieces there I would love to get my hands on. Very pretty things!
Hugs~
Stunning - all of it! Especially like the blue "Mad Men" dress, of course - even if it is an insulting sz 4 ;-)
How does a girl get so lucky? What a wonderful find! I would luxuriate in all those wonderful item!! Are you going to put them in your shop?
How did we miss this?!!!
Insanely beautiful stuff! Im so jealous you got to see all that! :D Thank you for sharing these fantastic pieces!

Those are so pretty and completely feminine! The lace would probably have me itching and size 4!!!! I don't think I ever wore a size 4! Pretty to look at!! Nancy
Beautiful and in such wonderful condition! What a fun sale!
Jane
Wow, Carol, you went to my kind of estate sale as well. I guess it's a good thing we're not in the same state or town because I'd probably "fight" you over the slips and vintage clothes. ha!
I can't wait to see the wedding veils. I scored a great 20's veil at the big Antique show in Texas last week, so I guess that will have to do! ha!
Love your post.
Betsy
You find the most amazing stuff Carol!! I love that pretty blue dress too! Size 4- goodness I haven't seen those days for years!! What pretty slips they used to make too!

What fabulous finds! Love all those beautiful, frilly, girly treasures!
You hit the jackpot--what fun!
Oh....lucky you! What fun those girly sales are...women used to have such awesome details on their clothing and lingerie...not today :( No one did it like those union garment workers!
Sue
I wish we had such wonderful girllie estate sales around here. What treasures.
What wonderful treasures! I wish I were a size 4 too. That style is oh so gorgeous to me.
And I love that lace shrug.
WOW, you really hit the jackpot Carol. So many beautiful items in one spot.
beautiful finds, carol! no vintage veils here, but, i be sure to come back to see yours:)
Lordy, Lordy! I am loving this. I so remember these beautiful designs. The slips in the 50 were so gorgeous. We wore a lot of half slips as well. We wore those with pencil skirts and sweaters. With the half slips we looked more like our idol, "Sweater Girl" Lana Turner. LOL!
I was never a size 4 even when I was birthed.
Thanks for you sweet visit, Ginger
That dress would fit right in on Mad Men. It happens to be one of my favorite shows mostly because of the fashions. Great finds, Carol. I always love the girlie girl stuff.
They are all so pretty. Last week I bought a satin Victorian lacy dress for my dress form. It too is so small. I couldn't even get it over my hips. LOL. I've been looking for a while for something like this...and all I could think is...I sure wish Carol lived closer so she could help me transform this!!
Love your brocade dress! What a gorgeous fashion piece. I love all these lovely vintage shares. Always so much fun to visit you here!
Thanks for this. I really like what you've posted here and wish you the best of luck with this blog and thanks for sharing.French Furniture Stores Online
