I haven't done broken china mosaics forever!
I love doing mosaics, but they are really time consuming and there always seemed to be a more pressing project.
Then I was gifted two of these little stands
Now, you can't tell by the picture, but the top of this padded stand is so small there is not even room for half a butt, so what was it's purpose, you couldn't sit on it, you couldn't put a plant on the padded top???? Anyone know?
I took the padded top off
Then painted it to get rid of the bright pink roses
And did mosaic on the top
It's cute out on the patio
One down and one to go
If you are thinking of trying mosaics, I did a post HERE on getting started. You can find some of my past broken china mosaic projects HERE
OK, I think I've got mosaics out of my system...... For awhile!
Happy Creating
Carol

I really love it and will now be keeping my eyes open for stools like that or at least ratty old plant stands to redo. I used to do mosaic art years ago, but haven't done it in a while.
I love that butter dish, btw!
That is so cute Carol! I have tried mosaics but only once. I hope to try it again some day. Retirement is getting closer so I hope to be able to play with all of these projects. Have a great day!
The stand is truly amazing. What gorgeous colors! I am having so much fun following your blog and seeing all of your creations. And you're so kind and generous to share your techniques. Thank you!
Blessings to you,
Tamara <3

Oh my gosh I want to try this. I need to keep an eye out for the perfect piece of something to work on. Thank you so much Carol for sharing with all of us. Your blog is my absolute favorite! Just full of beauty! Just like you! Hugs, Carolyn
It's all so beautiful. I really love the mirror. Don't know why that little stool is so tiny. Did they have a choice of S M or L? heehee! Sweet hugs!
Carol!! Stunning beyond belief!!

It has a purpose now and looks so much better. Love all your mosaics Carol, I can see how they'd become extremely addicting.
Beautiful Carol!!
Oh that is just beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! That's 3x pretty :)
Hi Carol, I love this table! Your mosaic design is gorgeous. So much better then the padded seat for half a butt!!! LOL
I have tried mosaics a couple times and it is a bit of work, but so rewarding when treasures can look like this.
Hugs!
p.s. maybe you can create a little pillow with the rose piece you took off~
Wonderful transformation! I'm in awe of your creations - very inspiring. Thanks for sharing.
Love the later, the transformation is great.
Ohhhh wow your x stool turned plant stand turned out beautiful Carol ;)

this turned out beautiful, something I always wanted to try and never have,
you are raising my bar on creativity!! thx bet you could put another plant in the bottom rings of the stands. Just a thought. And I prob will never do mosaics, but I love the color combos.

Oh, I love mosaics! This is so pretty and a big improvement over what you started with. I am going to check out the tutorial.

These are super cute, Carol. I love broken china mosaics, but I have never tried doing them. You are right about the half a butt, and anyway I like what you did with them so much better. I also like that you painted out the pink flowers. The white is so much simpler.
Carol
You're always thinking out of the box!
I love the mosaics.

OK! Need to stop laughing with the half-a-butt remark ahahahahaha
I've been babying the ideas of using this technique in some furniture for the garden. It looks so nice and happy... besides, whenever you pay attention to the bits you'll remember what they came from.
Like Kingtsugi: "The Japanese have an amazing ancient practice of mending broken ceramics with gold filled resin. The origins of this practice come from a story of a wealthy man who broke his precious tea cup. He sent it out to be repaired and to his astonishment, it was returned stapled together. It was ugly to his eye and unusable. To please the man a craftsman found away to repair the cup using gold resin, making it more beautiful. The belief is that the object is more valuable and beautiful with its history revealed."
Lovely! Wishing you an amazingly Happy Mother's Day!!!

There is no end to your talents. This is just sweet. You keep me looking for items to match your wonderful ideas. I guess that now the idea is to finish a few dozen of these inspirations!! I hope they turn out a fraction as cute as yours!!
Wow so pretty, I love mosaics Those little ballet slippers are darling I have a stand I think I'll give a mosaic touch. Xo Elle
As always you have improved this little stand by infiniti. The padded top would make a very large pincushion! ;o( Your mosaics are lovely but I understand the work involved. My mother did mosaics for Christmas gifts one year. So Much Work!!! Happy Creative Hearts...
At least you got them finished! I have a birdhouse I've been working on for , uh, well it's been so long I've forgotten ! I'm not even going to tell about the teapot trivet that is staring at me making me feel guilty. : ) You've made these soooo pretty no one will want to put anything on them ! (())
I have never cared much for mosaic but yours is so pretty so guess I have to change my mind! Very pretty! Nancy
What a transformation ad what a lovely piece for the garden. And no, I've no idea what it's for if it's too small for half a cheek! Plant stand seems like a much better idea!
I need to go back and look at all your fabulous mosaic creations. I truly love them! I collect Mosaicwares, but I can only afford them at sales and on eBay!
xo,
RJ

e tried mosaics but only once. I hope to try it again some day
I have never tried doing this Carol and probably never will because I am sure I'll mess it up!
I love what you've done with the stool, although it was really cute with the little cushioned top but it sure wouldn't fit my butt! LOL>
hugs
