Making a Polka Dot Suitcase

I love Polka Dots, so why not a polka dot suitcase?

Melissa at the Vintage Attic was my total inspiration.  I saw her post about polka dot transformations and had to give it a try.

She took these thrift store finds

To these works of art

Aren't these fabulous!!!

I taped the handle to my suitcase

(OOps I started painting, then I remembered to take a picture)

Sprayed it with primer and then Heirloom white

Then I grabbed Melissa's secret tools

And polka dotted away!

I coated it with Minwax wipe on poly acrylic
And put it in my booth at Orange Tree

Melissa you rock!

So, what else could I polka dot?
I would love to hear your ideas

Carol

Every since the movie Pretty Woman, when she wore that polka dotted dress to the polo match, I have loved them. I actually had that dress. I once found an orange polka dot old tin pail. It was so Frenchy and sold on ebay right away at a great price too. LOVE your red polka dot suitcase Carol. xoxo

Hi Carol, Love the suitcase! I saw the cutest dresser covered in polka dots at an antique mall. I am thinking of doing one for my grandchildren's room.

That is adorable!
Polka Dot:
Frames
small bookcases
small end tables (for a child's room)
baby girl rocking chair
step stools
wooden high chairs
I think a lot of vintage children's goodies.
For the summer...buckets, enamelware (to hold bottles and cans), oh and that WHITE TABLE you can't sell!

Thanks for sending me this link, Carol! I've tried making dots with those round sponge brushes but they didn't turn out like that. What was your technique?
