The reason we all love transformations is because we have a vision that other people don't have
Doesn't it always amaze you that you can be at an estate sale on the last day and you find the best stuff!
We wouldn't have passed up sewing drawers on the first day, much less the last day, not for $2.50 a drawer.
I am sure people thought it was just junk and they didn't have knobs
But with a little paint and copied fabrics
Or Sheet music and old wallpaper along with some knobs I had laying around
We have the perfect storage boxes
I priced these at $10.00 each, and put them in my booth at Orange Tree, all but one has already sold.
I would love to know whats the best treasure you found that everyone else passed up?
Carol

Wow great job and amazing idea - im sure the rest will fly off the shelves too :o) Scarlett x
Beautiful as always Carol but I don't find these easy to find so I keep what I do find. Love what you did with them here.
I filled mine with raffia and have my vintage jewelry displayed in it. I've displayed my sachets in it too, but I never thought of storing ribbon in them. Love, love, love how you always inspire me!
those tredle sewing machine drawers are an inspiration for sure, I'm not as crafty as you but I use old window frames to frame paintings, I painted a water scene on a large piece of canvas and hung it on the wall and it looks like a window,, I use old hankies and napkins for lavendar sachets, old table cloths for curtains, and I have an old door off a wash stand that I painted a rooster on and hung it up.I also paint on paddles and oars,, OK I'll stop now,, I love your blog,,
Wow Carol... I sure would have bought one for 10 bucks. I keep saying I am going to hit the estate sales but I haven't made the time yet!
Hugs,

Gorgeous! And a bargain to boot. I think they look great. I always find the best stuff at car boot sales at the end of the sale. I sometimes even get stuff given to me for free because they just want to get rid of it!
I wouldn't have passed up those fabulous drawers either ~ you did a wonderful job transforming them!
I love what you did with the drawers. I would snap one up if I could. I am inspired to get out and look for some bargains, I haven't had much time for that lately. Thanks for sharing.
Ya know, the thing I appreciate about you is how you can see the good in any object. Not that these drawers didn't scream "potential" in their found state. But other things you've transformed always turn out as neat as you envision. I love drawers like this and I can't believe I don't have any. I like how you have spools of ribbon in one...great idea!
I'm heading to Chicago tomorrow so I'll check in to see what you're up to in a few days. Take care!
Hugs,
Nancy
These are darling! Love your redo. Great bargain.
Carol-
Love these! I had bought some recently and cleaned them up for display...I had thought about painting them. I probably will now!
I had been wanting a smaller vintage library card catalog and I found one at the antique mall for $20! It has two rows/four drawers. I have seen these on ebay for way more, plus shipping, so I couldn't pass this up!
Of course, hubby thinks it is old/worthless and wants to throw it out...along with the vintage 1930's typewriter I found for $9 w/case....eek!

Oh boy that is cute Carol..very clever idea. You asked a good question, and I can't think right now:) We have so many treasures and more than likely others thought they were not for their taste..perfect for us!
You inspire me! Hope you can stop by the open house at Art Angels.
Love the way you used these, Carol. I love mine, use them for all kinds of different things.
Have a beautiful weekend.

Bargain price on those drawers, both buying and selling! Good job Carol! I have one sitting on my kitchen countertop right now waiting for paint! (*_*)
Kudos on the remake. You 'saw' what others might not have. Neat.
Carol, I seriously ALMOST bought one when I visited your booth and now I regret not getting one. It would be cute to store my makeup. Well, I definitely need to plan another trip to Winter Park--hope it doesn't take 3 hours to get there this next time haha!
Hi Carol,
I am often skip sales on the last day thinking what goodies could be left? But I am often surprized :-)
Your drawers are gorgeous, love the sheet music liner :-)
Thanks for the citra solv tip, it is just what I was looking for, I can't wait to try it!!
Hugs,
Bella
I love your vision and style. These drawers are just fabulous and I can see why they sold so quickly. I fell in love with a chair at a silent auction and had to pass on it because hubby said it wouldn't fit in the car that night. I was crushed so I bid on and acquired a dozen other things I never needed that really upset him. I since donated every thing to charity. Happy creating...
Carol - so very pretty, and so useful. Love what you did with those drawers.

Hi Carol, I just found you through Bella. Love your blog and have enjoyed reading some of your posts.
I love your sewing drawers. I just bought two at an estate sale that I'll be painting and fixing up also.
Come by and visit when you have time.

Hi Carol,
I always pick these up when I can find them. They sell fast. I usually paint mine and add knobs but now I'm going to add some lining. Great idea.

Great job again Carol, love the transformation and especially to store the ribbons. I will have to look for some of those. thanks for posting.
You are such an inspiration to me!
I can't find sewing drawers. We do not have a true flea market here. I have been looking at yard sales!
Your transformation is beautiful!! What a perfect place to store ribbon!
Hello Carol! Oh my I just love old sewing boxes and you got them at quite a steal! They turned out just gorgeous! Happy Pink Saturday!
Hugs,
Olivia
Carol:
I would have fainted if I found them at a garage sale for that cheap!
Garage sale season has finally begun here since the rain/cold has left the building. I am in a tizzy waiting to get out there!
Your makeovers are stunning! FYI: Do you have a Michaels? They have glass (faux crysal) door pulls in their dollar bins. The come in pink, clear, pink and blue. They would look great on your next steal at garage sale!
I collect vintage windows and people think I'm crazy til they see the transformation :)

Bonjour Carol,
Great idea to line the drawers with preety papers. Your blog is beautiful. Thank you for your visit, I'm a new follower and will be back again soon.

Hi girlfriend :)
I love old sewing machine drawers and have painted a few! Didn't think about adding the pretty lining! You are so smart!
Warmly,

I was just doing a google search on vintage sewing drawers and look who popped up :) I found a couple of these at the flea market and was looking for a little inspiration...yours are very inspiring! I especially like the one w/ the rose "fabric.
Wow! what a fab idea! Great job, very creative :O)
Regards Nina
I filled mine with old wood spools of thread and displayed them that way on my fireplace. Love these drawers.
My husband CANNOT see the potential either. Every old thing I bring home us a"junk" or do he says. Do much satisfaction in proving him wrong!!😂
