Wedding Flower Ornaments

Before the wedding I knew I wanted to save the  flowers for keepsake projects

Our ancestors carefully saved special occasion flowers by pressing them in book pages.  I came up with this new twist on a long lost tradition that could be treasured for generations to come.

The first thing I made with the wedding flowers was this babies breath wreath...Here

Then I had all of the flowers left over

I purchased clear balls and heart ornaments from Hobby Lobby.

Then added water slide decals..Tutorial HERE...Instead of water slide decals, you could hang a paper tag with the occasion and date

I filled them with wedding flowers and babies breath then snapped them together and added ribbons for hanging

The empty ornaments are available all year round

I think this would be a wonderful way to save flowers from

Weddings
Proms
Dances
Anniversaries

The heart would be perfect for any occasion and could be hung from the corner of a mirror or knob

Guess what?...Yep, I still have flowers left and one more project up my sleeve!

Oh, Bradley and Alicia, these ornaments are headed your way!

Happy Crafting!
Carol

Hi Carol, Oh my gosh, I am loving this idea too. What a perfect keepsake for the new couple and of course could be customized in many ways. Love the roses inside from the wedding.
You are just so talented and I am always inspired my friend.

So glad you are enjoying your little ornaments. Best wishes!!

Carol! You're brilliant! I would totally do this, except I never got to keep my wedding flowers. I was wondering, how much would you charge for an ornament with baby's breath (shipping included)?

Brilliant my dear! I love to save roses from our garden and I have lots of "potpourri" drying. This is such a wonderful way to enjoy them all year long in the hearts. I now know what I am doing for Mr. C for Valentine's this year. Thank you for your generous sharing.

Carol another great idea up you sleeve friend and one that I am going to have to steel- oops borrow!!
One of the bridesmaids left her bouquet at the reception so I took it home to dry for my nephew's new bride. I think they would love to have some ornaments made with the roses!!

I was trying to figure out how you stuffed those roses in that little opening of the ornament then read the rest of the story! Hadn't seen these kind of ornaments before!!

Just got the last of the 70+ donor ornaments and letters plus 400 newsletters off in the mail today- nothing like waiting till the last minute!

This is one of your best ideas yet! What a wonderful way to preserve the flowers. I pinned this to my board designed for the future weddings that live inside my head.
