I posted these cute little mitten Christmas ornaments three years ago, but I think they are so darn cute that they are worth another look!? I hope you agree.
They are a great way to use torn and stained vintage linen and lace scraps
I am always saving vintage hankies, and embroidered linen that is stained or has holes, I just can't bare to throw them out when some portion is useful
This is the perfect project to use some of those scraps
I drew a free hand pattern of a mitten 5 1/2" X 4 1/2", cut two, sewed them together and embellished
These were from old tablecloths and an antique quilt
And old hand towel, table cloth, and quilt
Hanky, hand towel, and tablecloth
I adorned these with vintage lace, buttons, flowers, and jewelry
Great hostess gifts for the holidays.
I think I could call these "Second Hand Mittens"!

I have some old worn linens and may have to try this.
Thanks for the inspiration!
These are so cute, Carol! Definitely worth a repost (especially since I don't think I saw them the first time around)! : )
These are adorable! Love all the pretty embellishments you added.
Carol everything you create has a very vintage elegant style and these are sew sweet! Sharing Joy and Jingles...
Too adorable!
Oh my word, Carol!
How did you know I just, uh, "lifted" a tattered, hand-sewn quilt from my mom's? I have a bag of Grandma's lace scraps & some of Auntie's buttons -- I know what all the gals of the family are getting for their trees this year!
Thank you!
These are so cute. Thanks for sharing all of your creative ideas. Some of us don't have the time or creativity to come up with such amazing ideas.
Dasrling way to use those bits and pieces of pretties!
Hope the sales are going well for you at the new shop.

Those are just the cutest! I'm not sure about drawing the pattern but I would love to make some! I'm going to pin them! Sweet hugs, Diane

Loved them the first time around, Carol, now this time you're inspiring me to get crackin' since I just happen to have a cutter quilt and some newly freed lace!

Those are ADORABLE! I too have a hard time letting go of "rescue" linens..I sell my good ones but the rag tag ones go into a tote..ok..toteS! I have a good method to remove a lot of stains, but holes and some stains are NOT coming out. I can't bear to toss someone's handwork they labored over!
Thanks for the inspiration. I love these cute mittens so much that I will be making some!
