Before I show you how I made this lace covered dress form...
I want to thank everyone that entered the dress form giveaway, goodness what a response!
We love our dress forms! OK time to announce the winner....Drum roll please....By Random number generator...CeeKay-Thinkin of Home!
I had a blast making this lace dress form. This is where you pull out the good stuff, the vintage lace, appliques, and bling you have been saving
I laid the form on her back and covered her with lace, pulling the lace tight and hot glueing around the outside edge then adding a few dots of glue between the bust.
Now, it's time to have some fun.
Now, it's time to have some fun.
Glueing on the precious things I had been saving. Look close, you will see a vintage lace collar down the sides, appliques I took off a vintage dress, pearls.....
...Circles of vintage lace I bunched together to formed a plunging V and topping it off with hand rolled silk flowers from a vintage veil along with pearls and a pin. I finished by adding a little skirt of vintage lace
That's it, you can do this!!
Thank you again for your huge response to this giveaway and thank you Barr Display!
I think every girl deserves a dress form and this one (Undressed) is only $20.95
Here's the details on ordering
I'd like to see a show of hands....Do you own a dress form, vintage, new, full, half, hanging...Any form?
Happy Creating!
Carol

Congrats CeeKay! And Carol...your dress form is so adorable. I considered entering your contest, but I have a dress form and thought it best to let someone else have the chance to win one. Mine is an old wire form and has a beautiful antique blouse on. Her name is Kate! :)
Lucky Ceekay!!!! Oh Carol, you really made this one so beautiful, I absolutely love it and wish it were mine.
I'm going to have to order one for myself and see what I can do.
Thanks for this wonderful, ingenious idea!

What a beautiful job you did on this beauty. I have a dress form and she is fun to dress up. Although she is a little plump and needs to go on a diet LOL

She looks lovely, Carol! And no, I don't own a dress form of any kind.
Congrats to Ceekay!
Carol, actually I have 2 dress forms, very vintage (old) but both full size on stands. One I paid $40 for and one I paid just $5 for. I hope one day to fix them up so pretty. Yours is so pretty. Thanks for the inspiration!

Hi Carol,
Your dress form is lovely! Using your best old linene, lace and pretties made it so.
No dress forms here. That "bug" hasn't bitten me, yet! LOL
Happy Thursday!
Warmly,
deb
Carol, your dress form is lovely all dressed up in her finery. Congrats to the winner. She will probably have fun dressing her. I have two forms and have used them when I need a model for something I make. Maybe I will someday make mine pretty like yours.--------Shannon

No dress form, I have young boys in the house LOL! Yours turned out lovely though. My Mom has one she uses for all her necklaces.
No dress form here, and if I were not running around like a chicken with my head cut off, I might have won one. Well... pooh!
But I congratulate the winner and think your lace one is just lovely.

Carol, so glad I went ahead and ordered mine, it is on it's way. I will be dressing it for my daughter, for Christmas.
I have one antique dress form, taken apart, in a box in the garage. I have been restoring it for years. NOT! I sure do need to get it out and restored. You are an inspiration, maybe I can do that this spring.
Merry Christmas

Congrats to the lucky winner. LOVE your makeover, Carol. That color pearls and her lace skirt...swoon.
Please email me (Oceanbreezes64@aol.com)because for some reason I can't email you from blogger. Yesterday I got an Etsy newsletter entitled WEDDINGS. It's all ideas and shops for weddings! LOL So, I want to pass it along to you!

YES
I own 3 dress forms ,2 tall ,one bust. I am going to try and dress my bust form up with a fancy lace outfit similiar to yours.
you did a real fancy job love it
congratulations on your winner , we ALL wanted it
Yes, I own a few and I have sold several in the past. I'm in the middle of redoing a smaller one like the one you just gave away and now I have switched gears and am also looking for the perfect vintage lamp to use as a base! Thank you for the ideas!!
Congrats and thanks Barr Display. Love all the lace dreaminess. I do have one old wonky dress form named Vintage Janey.
Congrats to Cee-Kay! I have a vintage dress form who is still nameless and naked. I just got her recently and I plan to remedy that! Carol, I love this tutorial. I live pretty close to Barr Display and hope to get there soon!
No dress forms for me...although I love them. But I had to comment about the public service announcement because I just had a somewhat funny but awful hot glue "accident"......
Over Thanksgiving weekend I was making a wreath and making felt flowers to go on the wreath. I had just loaded the back of a flower with hot glue to stick onto the wreath (I was sitting on the couch with my leg crossed) when I missed the wreath and the flower landed right on my leg!!!!! I actually ended up with MRSA (a staph infection) from a HOT GLUE BURN!!!! It was really a bad one though. That flower just sealed right to my skin.
I almost broke my toe because I jerked up and kicked the coffee table. LOL
Luckily I was at the doctor a week later for something else when she noticed my leg (which was still in really bad shape). I kind of thought it was infected, but I didn't figure it wasn't anything Neosporin wouldn't clear up.
Hot glue is DEFINITELY dangerous stuff if you aren't careful. I could have been the only person to ever lose a limb or die from a hot glue gun burn! LOL Now I know how they get those ridiculous warning labels. LOL
Lovely job on the dress form Carol, it is beautiful! Thanks for stopping by my blog today and reading about my new "creepy" art! LOL! I really love it! Have fun with the girls this Sunday! (*_*) xo
Romantically fabulous! I can't imagine that it's nearly as easy as you make it seem. That's a wonderful creation!
I love this! Sooo My style! I currently own a half manaquin (english version of a form) and I love it! Currently has my home-made saree on it.

Oh my goodness Carol, this is amazing. I love the way you topped off the top of her neck with the pretty silk flowers. The skirt is the perfect finishing touch.
I have a few dress forms that I use to display jewelry during my shows and then I have a cardboard Adjust-o-Matic with a stand. Love them and always searching for more....they are so expensive.
Carol, this is so beautiful! I can't take my eyes off it. Don't have one of my own....yet!
Hi Carol,
Your dress form is so pretty! I love all the added touches. I would have loved to have entered your contest. But just knowing my husband it would have made it's way into my closet. lol
The glue gun looks awesome! I have burned my fingers more times than I will admit too. :-)
Dee
I don't have a dress form, but I long for one, for both practical and esthetic purposes. Your's is so pretty!
You should host a "show off your dress form party!" Wouldn't that be so much fun!!! I'd surely show off all my "girls" lol
big hug~
This looks so pretty, Carol...just love it! Congrats to Ceekay!!
Hi Carol, Congrats to Ceekay! I know her and follow her blog. She will love it! I did not enter this drawing. Loved it so much, but did not want to seem greedy after just winning my wonderful bag. I do own a large dressform. She resides in my sewing room. Not an antique. I have my eye on an antiwue on at a local shop. I want it so bad, but the owner doesn't want to sell it just yet. Also have a cute dress form pincushion given to me at a quilt retreat by a friend. I hopped over to let you know that I posted about my fab bag today. Love it and thank you again! Have a wonderful week!
Congrats to Ceekay... your Lace covered Dress Form is Beautiful! Thanks for a tutorial so we can jazz up our Mannequin Gals. I have Dress Form Triplets... all Vintage from different eras, two were Goodwill Hunting scores. I'm contemplating deconstructing the covering of two of them so that they'll match the Lovely Sage & Sepia of the oldest caged Dress Form which is Sepia Linen aged to perfection.
I'll have to be more diligent to realize when you have another fab and generous giveaway, alas, I missed this last one.
Christmas Blessings from the Arizona Desert... Dawn... The Bohemian
Congrats to Ceekay for winning this lovely creation!

Lovely Dress form and dressed up perfectly for the ball. All that lovely lace and pearls.
Congratulation to Cee-Kay on her win!
But I just may have to order one!
Absolutely wonderful. You are the queen of the Ball. Lovely dress form and I am so in heaven with lace on anything. Thank you for sharing your steps and the insert about low temp glue guns. My son gave me one that is dual for Christmas, high and low and I love it. No more burns!
Lovely party, thank you for hosting.
Hugs, Celestina Marie
