I don't often see something that I can't live without, but when my friends Stacy And Sissie both posted this picture on their blogs...I simply had to have that fabric!
I lost my mind looking for it, I Googled all over the place, pink toile, angel toile, etc, etc,....Then there it was..I purchased it from Carousel Designs and took a sigh of relief when it was only $11.90 a yard, because I had to have it at any cost.
I wanted to use it to redo my dining room
I didn't totally hate the dining room as it was, but my....How should I say this..."Fluffier" friends, did not feel that the vintage folding chairs were sturdy enough
So, I found these chairs for $10 a piece at the antique store
And with a little love, heirloom white paint, and 2" foam cushions..... I have to add, that it took forever to work the corners of the cushions so I wouldn't have any creases or bunching of fabric...Hum, maybe 1" foam would have been OK!
My vision came to life...Don't you love it when that happens!
But, then I didn't love the window bench
So, with a little help from Billie
I decided to slip cover it
Then it all came together!
I have a small house in downtown Orlando, so we aren't talking a huge dining room here, but the antique table opens up and I have seated (Squeezed) 8 people in my little dining room.
Oh, in case you were wondering, I purchased the rug many years ago at Target, I wish I had bought two!
My Mom thinks my dining room would be perfect if I would just paint that old chippy table LOL!
Baby boy is visiting from DC, so if I don't get back to you right away it's because I'm busy waiting on him hand and foot...Something Mom's do when grown kids visit!
Happy Creating!

Love it Carol! So pretty. My kind of colors, love pink toile!
I think it looks fabulous! I love the chairs. I'm in chair hunting season. I laughed at your mom's comment because mine would say the same thing.
The two inch cushions may have been a bugger to do, but don't they just fit the romantic style of the whole room? Why yes, they do!
I really like the addition of the pink fabric, gives the room more dimension. The green fabric blended with the wall and rug too much, now it's perfect. Don't you paint that table!!
Great redo! A little too much green before, now it all ties in perfectly! Love your buy of the chairs too, looks like they folded up? How cool anyway. I do love it when things all come together! Sometimes I get so excited I can not get done fast enough. Will work without eating to see the end results!
Awesome look, just love it!
Carol, everything is just gorgeous!!! I loved the new chairs, the fabric you used for the cushions. Of course, I believe we should say one big Thank you to Billie otherwise I don't think you could manage to redo the window bench ;) Everything is just perfect. I guess now it is curtains time...
Blessings and have a lovely weekend!!!

Carol, I would love to have your dining room. The Shabby Chic style is my look, but somehow I can't talk the family into embracing it all over the house.
So funny what your mom said about your table. That must be a parent thing. My father said the same thing about a curio cabinet I painted, then sanded. First thing he said when he saw it was "It will look good when you find time to paint it."
Your new chairs and fabric are beautiful, and it's amazing what a simple touch like changing the color can do to a room. Yours is gorgeous! Thanks for sharing it with us.
Carol, it'a all so stunning!! It deserves to be in a magazine!!!
Sylvia

Carol, I am so glad you found your fabric. It's perfect and I love what you did. Now!!! You have to give a tutorial on making the slip cover for the window seat. I need to do the same thing for mine. Where you pinned the corners, how did you cut off the excess and how did you add the ruffle, etc. ? Pretty please!! xoxox

Hi Carol,
Oh My I'm in love with your sweet dining room. I think that fabric was and is the perfect choice. I made panels for my dining room using this fabric. Well, I originally made them for a bedroom, but later decided to use them in the dining room. I've been looking for more of the fabric too and found it at another site but it was $22.per yd!
Thanks for the source because I'm ordering it now!
You've got me all fired up again! LOL!
hugs
Sissie

I was not expecting the slipcover on the bench. You've given me an idea now for my ugly hope chest (that hopes to look better soon). Your room looks so pretty and light.
