Homemade Estate Sale Sign....STOP THE CAR!!!

I tell you, there is nothing better than a homemade estate sale sign, YAHOO!

This tells you that the sale is not by an estate sale company, it is by a family, or guardian.  That means one of two things, either it's a big dud because they think they have treasures, and they don't.
Or
You score big because they have no idea what they have!
You be the judge

$5.00 I'm keeping this for me!  A gold lacy frame .50, you know what I do with these.

Heart attack time a $3.00 hat, look at those gorgeous vintage flowers, it's going in the guest room.

80's hanging light, love these, here's one I recently rehabbed , I hardly get them in my booth and they're sold.

Remember my ugly italian chandelier that I transformed

Yep, got another one! $6.00 all ready for it's make over.

And lastly  OHHHH I love linen!

Then, with my heart beating fast, looking in my rearview mirror, I sped away to the grocery store,
which is where I was heading in the first place!

Does this ever happen to you, you're speeding away afraid they will come after you and say they made a mistake and want all of their stuff back!

Carol

You found so many goodies, the flowers on that hat are so pretty.
Great deals! If you find some one in your rear vieuw mirror calling you, it might be the seller to tell you that the hat comes with a vintage dress...

Wow Carol you definitely have a lucky fairy on your shoulder! Love, love, love the hat, my mom had one just like in and I always thought it was the most elegant thing ever when I was a child, now I know it is!

Unfortunately for me, when I see signs like that, especially ones that say Big or Huge sale, I am usually disappointed.
This weekend I did make a haul but have not posted the best finds yet. Oh- and they are lamps!

Wow, those are some great finds! I know how that is though. Once I went to a pre event for an estate sale my aunt was helping organize. Like the one you went to, the people had no idea how to price anything, despite having an antique dealer help. I really think that woman priced everything too low so her vendors would buy most of it.

My family bought a ton of stuff way too cheap. We felt guilty about it too. However, one thing to keep in mind about these sales what that family told us.....

They had grown up with all this "clutter" and just did not want to deal with it after their parent's death. Therefore, they really didn't care what it was worth. They priced a lot of it cheap just to ensure somebody would buy it so they wouldn't be stuck with it after the sale.

I love, love all those lights you bought though!

Those are my favorite kind of estate sales too! I really don't like the ones run by an estate sale company, as you know they price everything too high!
You found some great stuff and your makeovers are amazing!!
