A Few Small Projects

Oh my gosh...Christmas is only days away and I just did my decorating last night!  I know everyone is showing their gorgeous holiday decorations, but I have decorated my house pretty much the same for the last 3 years....Am I the only one that doesn't switch it up every year?  Here's my Christmas post from 2010 lol!.....Yep, it looks pretty much the same.

So, I'm interrupting holiday decor posts to show you a few small projects I did for my booth.

Having "Smalls" is the bread and butter for those of us with booths and my shelves were getting pretty bare.

The graphics were all done with water slide decals

Metal boxes of any kind are so hot right now, customers are buying them as soon as I bring them into my booth.  They love them just as they are or, with any finish and if you add graphics.... all the better!

This was just a plain grown file box

A little paint, some distressing and a water slide decal and it sold immediately

You are now free to return to the regularly scheduled programing of blogs filled with gorgeous holiday decor and projects

Have a great weekend.  I know yours, like mine, will be filled with fun holiday parties!

Happy Creating!
Carol

A usual I'm a fan ! Can we always buying new things for christmas ? Not sure ! I'm happy every year when I open my boxes and when I discover that things doesn't change ! Along the year I buy new bits on the flea markets and I paint them pink or white, and I try to put things in a different way to please my look.

Hi Carol, My house looks much the same as last year too, only I put up about half the decorations. I just decided that I didn't really want to do that much anymore. A wreath on the door, a tree and the mantel, that's it for me. I boxed up a bunch of decorations and it wasn't more than an hour before I heard of a need for them. Funny, sometimes how God works :)
Well, your transformations always amaze me. You take things that others throw out and transform them into things that the same people would repurchase :) That's what I call talent!
I do hope that you are enjoying the season and that your booth is doing well. I'm so proud of all that you have accomplished this year. I love that you are published and that you are doing so well with your dress-forms. I see your name everywhere:) Bravo!
God bless,
Your blogging sister, Connie :)

Aloha!

I have -0- Christmas decorations out again this year. We're going to Guam for Christmas, so why get it out? Music and the scent of cookies baking is all we need. :o)

Your recent projects turned out so delightfully, Carol. I've been having fun, too. STILL trying to make myself a button. FAIL x 18. *sigh*

Happy weekend,
Kelley~

Hi Carol,
Love the metal box. I just passed one up the other day while out junking. Better go back now and see if I can get it!

Yep, smalls are necessary especially this time of year.

Wow- what a little paint and a decal can do!

I'm doing a lot of decorating this year but no cards or parties and probably no baking and the only presents are stockings stuffed for the grands.

I generally pick one thing to really go with and this year it was Christmas crafting and decorating!

Let's just all do what makes us happy! ♥

I am always impressed with how you "fix up" different "plain old" things and make them into treasures!

I love the metal box with the decal. Very swoony!
I love metal boxes, wood boxes ...any boxes! They are so fun to decorate with.
I think I'm going to have to try the decal thing next year. Again, you have inspired me! Thanks for sharing.
Now, back to my regularly scheduled work. LOL
Enjoy your Christmas!

I tend to put the same decor out year after year, too, and I think that is why I don't get very excited to decorate. Same old stuff. I did switch some things up this year and put out less and planning to get rid of even more so I can focus on adding some new.
I looked at your tutorial and thank you for sharing. So the Krylon really makes the ink jet waterproof??

My holiday decor really never changes and we usually don't decorate at all. Mr. C has childhood holiday issues and I respect his feelings. I am fine with no tree and all the mess. I love your post and how cleverly you interrupted yourself. Fabulous smalls for your booth. December Delights Dear...

Love your metal boxes too. Anything metal or rusty flies out of our shop as well. And I know what you mean about smalls being our bread and butter in the business. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog for a visit.

Thanks for the break Carol, lol. No surprise that your fabulous box sold right away, such a clever idea. I've noticed that metal and even wood boxes that have been prettied up sell right away.

Don't feel bad, Carol, we finally got our tree up the other day! I love your latest projects. That metal box is such a great idea! I see those all the time, and have always (until now!) passed them up as they look so plain! Now I know what to do when I find one! Thanks for the inspiration!!

Ha, Ha, Ha, Ho, Ho, Ho Not my House. You don't bring a Pink Tree to the PNW! It's a 10' Green Tree, smells like pine and totally decked out in Gold, Silver, and White Glass, all Glass. Just like in the Magazines, with 18 strands of clear lights.

Hope you are having a jolly fabulous week end!

Hi Carol, You've done a great job on the metal box! No wonder that it sold right away. The other items are beautiful too after you did your magic. Wishing you great Christmas sales.
I'm still not finished with my Christmas decoration but it's coming along.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Now I'm going to have to start scooping up metal boxes! LOVE them painted white!!!
I haven't joined any holiday decorating parties yet either. I want to, but I can't take good photos. I will give it a try today. And yes, I pretty much decorate the same every year, like you ;)

Carol, at least your decorations are done, I'm thinking I may just stick with the few I have up and be done with it! ha!
As for smalls being the bread and butter I say a big AMEN to that! I don't know how many times that we've done a show or checked our monthly totals in our mall space and have seen the dollars add up with smalls.
Have a Merry Christmas.

Not much decorating here yet as my daughter and SIL have moved in to be with me. We are still sorting and finding places for everything. Lots of trips to the GW, but none of the "good" stuff. Trying to teach the non-crafty SIL what is important! He is sure having a hard time learning!! Merry Christmas.♥♫

It is so interesting I was searching for this topic for a long time. I read this article very carefully and now I got all my best information for writing a blog on jewelry packaging manufacturers. I am so glad that I finally find a blog resemblance to my topic. Thanks for this.
